And, I wouldn't trust ANY insurance company, even a "reputable" one. Lawyering up is always smart.
no Sebring is not covered. Sebring is considered a closed course designed for racing. Sorry but your insurance company will laugh at you if you call them with a claim at Sebring.....even if you are attending a "driving school"

Lawyers are sometimes over rated and you end up spending the additional money squeezed out of the claim on paying the lawyer. Me personally, I would only hire a lawyer in a bodily injury claim or pip claim not a physical damage only claim, unless they were trying to blantantly low ball me which typically doesn't happen on a physical damage claim especially a total loss.

Ryan, his upgraded parts are likely not going to be covered, I agree.

the proof would be in your insurance contract. read it, because not many people do or call your insurance provider and ask them. Sebiring drivers school would only be covered if it was a state mandated course which it isn't. It's not like the Sebring course is a defensive drivers course.....it is the opposite lol. This is general to insurance, your specific insurance company has the final say though so, one company may say yeah it's ok as long as it is not a snctioned race event and another will say hell no period becuase it was on a closed track designed for racing! But generally speaking a closed course or track use is not covered.

I have wondered this as well. I assume that I take full responsibility for the cost of damages accrued from track days. I have seen two Porches first hand lose control on turn 16 at Sebring and total their cars. Pretty expensive repair job, especially the GT-3

it depends on your insurance. i know an instructor who has had 3 incidents at sebring all all were covered by his insurance. you really only need a note from the chief track instructor that says "this is a drivers education program, there is no racing or any competitiveness at all that goes on". I've seen that get a few people out, but it really depends on the insurance.

Very sorry to see this LD. Best of luck with everything, including finding the direct cause of the fire!
