add another 12k for a motor build and for 24K you have a sweet car.

Chris I know you've talked to geoff at full race. How did the original R14 handle? I've only ever seen the stuff on the swap itself, nothing on how it actually performed.

Unless you are actually after more power, or just really want the bottom end of a larger displacement engine, your a bit silly for putting the SR aside, piece one together rather than buying someones supposed good setup, and for a reasonable price you can have 380-400 rwhp, and it wont be impossible to work on.

NO. because i take car of my cars. my KA has 250k and i beat the living piss out of it. it takes everything you could possibly throw at it. i just keep up with general maintinence on it and seafoam it every other oil change. i buy and put the best fluids i can in the motor. and NO i have not had any problems what-so-ever. only problem ive had is a vaccum leak that was my fault because i accidentaly sliced the hose when installing a part on the motor. other than than that. no. and my other 240 i had the KA had 185K and it had a really bad timing chain rattle and slap. still DD'd it for 20k and it held up to everything. then my firend got it and replaced alot if stuff for new parts. TBH i really dont see how people blow up KA's so easily.

Exhaust comes out the other side of the motor, which is only different and not bad. Packaging in a straight 6 is always an issue. And unless you do a turbo upgrade, some one in a 50-trim KA is going to blow past you. Oh the irony, if that happens.

If you have the cash, go for it. It can't be that hard.
dude i know in tokyo has a rs200...he loves it.

And 2j negatives? It came in a different make of car? For someone who thinks setting timing and wiring on a KA is difficult, you don't need to be swapping engines from another Nissan car, much less another manufacturer.

Bring your "fairly decent sum of money" to a shop and let them build a nice SR20 for you. There's absolutely nothing wrong with an SR. Quit trying to be different, you're just like everyone else. There is nothing new you can accomplish with an S13.
You are very ignorant. An SR is a good motor, but it's not the solution for everyone. Quit trying to be an ass, you're just like everyone else. There is always something interesting you can do with an S13.

The key to his message was the "its not the solution for everyone" part.

No there's not. Someone beat you to the punch at least 5 years ago with any "original" idea you might have.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't do something out of the ordinary. That just means you shouldn't do something JUST to be different. If you have other *good reasons to put something other than an SR20 in your s-chassis, then go for it. If it's simply because "I'm tired of SR's, yo I wanna be different" then you're an idiot.

It's a perfectly capable motor for most people's power goals, and prices aren't nearly what you guys are making them out to be. There's multiple SR powered CARS selling for $3k in the Tampa area.If you know where to look to avoid the drift tax, SR20's and parts are really pretty cheap.

I would rather not have a sr. I would rather turbo my ka. I wish one of you could solve my problem with my ka right now sonce NO one knows wtf else is wrong with it this time. And its not because I fuck with shit. Most of the time people tell me they have no idea wtf my car is oing what its doing. its not just simple this simple that. A scrap yard I got to up here. The guy has fully built 4g63s all the time, people with turboed sr20dets, turbo this turbo that. Half of them CANNOT figure out what is wrong with my motor. say the idle for instance, this is ONE reson I was looking into another motor. My car idles likeshit after I drive it for a minute or 2 but is fine when start up. replaced water temp sensor, IAC valve(adjusted and replaced) AAC REPLACED,oxygen sensor REPLACED, ignition module, relay, fuses, compression checked ect. STILL runs like shit when Idle. Timing is perfect, NO vacuum leak. swapped computers ect My car will not accelerate at ALL after I replaced the clutch and put a j30 rear diff in. It accelerates super slow. Clutch grabs like a beast(6 puck) just no fucking acceleration like 0-60 in under 2 minuets. NO one fuckign has a clue as to why my car dose this. I had to fix the oil leaks on this piece when I got it from a 95 s14, I had to clean the oil pan out because the timing chain guide BROKE, tensioners were going bad so i replaced those also. Oil pick up was cloged because of poor chain guide design. oil squirters could have been cloged oil galleys ect. Nock sensor on these cars picks up people talking int he fuckin car its so sensative. Its many things that annoy me about the ka. I love my ka to death because I have learned ALOT from shit going wrong and Im sure it would be great if I fulley built and replaced and cleaned everything but seriously, I posted this thread to find out about a more reliable motor. yea sr would be cheap but i am not going to put a fuckin sr under my hood. not gonna happen. All the drift kids telling me to put a sr in it like them and be done with it becasue thats what people with 240s do if they want to go fast, put sr's in them.... You know how annoying it is when people ask me if I have a sr in my car when i pull up next to them (people that don't know shit about cars) one more reason i don't fuckin want one. its the only motor any one recognizes, outside of the car scene.....no bitch this is a mother fuckin LS1... do you hear a turbo ass hat? no you dont so wtf would it be an sr. EVERy day some one asks me. I really want to stick with a 4-6 cyl engine tho. I love ka's Im not hatin just sick of the problems, and for some one that is putting every dollar into just getting the thing to run decent and a few mods here and their its been very disappointing, especially when poeple around here who seriously know about building some nice engines and cars cannot help me and you guys are my only chance of fixing shit. Im sorry, Im not bringing my car to a shop EVER. I want to learn. even if that means pissing money to fix it. unlike alot of you, I dont know people with shops so it makes it harder for me to fix shit. google is only good and TR when people have had the same problem as you and you can find the thread. all that shit I replaced. is shit after I researched and asked you guys...
