Datsun Dreaming
i was thinking about an ecu controlled solenoid the other day when i saw this,
Chase Bays Electronic Boost Solenoid Kit - Nissan 240sx - ChaseBays.com
would be pretty sweet

Whats sweet there ? I just see the solenoid from a greddy, aem, or whatever, boost controller ?
I don't know anyone that uses a straight bleed valve MBC anymore. Every DIY controller I've seen in the last 10 years has been ball and spring, aka Dawes. Greddy touting that they're not a bleed valve is like putting an emblem on your car that says "fuel injection".
I really like the closed loop EBCs like the Gizzmo (not that anyone is asking). But what I really wanted to perfect is the ECU controlled wastegate. The S14 and S15 ECUs have boost maps so you can give them whatever profile you want. Yes it's a major pain in the ass to reburn chips to change your boost profile, but I loved the simplicity of the not having yet another box in my dash. Add a switch somewhere to cut out the actuator signal to revert to wastegate pressure. I did have the MAP sensor working, but I'm not good enough to firmware hack it into a closed loop setup. I'd just go with a PFC if I cared that much.
See ECU controlled e-fans as well.

was sayin i thought of it when i saw that page, and sayin it would be cool if the stock ecu could be used to change the boost
But if I were looking to stay SR/KA, i'd see about using one of the gm pcms used for the ls family, there are plenty of readily available variables that could easily be used for this, within them, the fan control is already taken care of also.
Just not sure how much trouble it would be as far as getting the pcm to work with the SR's CAS, or reworking the mechanical assembly to use sensors from gm stuff.
Ok epstein, now onto you finding out what exactly is needed to get this to work, who wants to be the gunea pig.
I'll make a pnp harness for the setup, chris has to declare needed components, and do tuning

Benefits:
pulse width controlled idle
fan control
possible boost control
big LS1 throttle body ?
