Datsun Dreaming
I made a boost controller out of plumbing fittings a spring and a two ball bearings. It worked awesome, it's just a fancy check valve. It had a cool bleeder at the top I made with a drill too.
Popping your hood to adjust boost sucks, I'd rather press a button.

id rather push a button myself, but i don't really need anything fancy as far as boost control on this car, hell, i think this MBC is prob more than what i needed, i would have ran with a HKS adj wastegate and got the same results... maybe i'll do that.. sell the MBC and pick up a S14/S15 HKS WG....
and i can't complain, it was free....

Burnouts or it doesn't exist.
Still havent dialed my gizzmo in. It's set to 17.5-psi but seems like it could be a bit less laggy.
What are your gain and duty cycle set at?
I don't know anyone that uses a straight bleed valve MBC anymore. Every DIY controller I've seen in the last 10 years has been ball and spring, aka Dawes. Greddy touting that they're not a bleed valve is like putting an emblem on your car that says "fuel injection".
I really like the closed loop EBCs like the Gizzmo (not that anyone is asking). But what I really wanted to perfect is the ECU controlled wastegate. The S14 and S15 ECUs have boost maps so you can give them whatever profile you want. Yes it's a major pain in the ass to reburn chips to change your boost profile, but I loved the simplicity of the not having yet another box in my dash. Add a switch somewhere to cut out the actuator signal to revert to wastegate pressure. I did have the MAP sensor working, but I'm not good enough to firmware hack it into a closed loop setup. I'd just go with a PFC if I cared that much.
See ECU controlled e-fans as well.
