red 04 for $11.5k Nissan 350Z TOURING
these guys have 3 of them, the cheapest you could probably get down into the 11k range http://www.autotrader.com/dealer/inf...Auto_Sales.jsp
Tampa Auto Source only has one, but I've seen as many as 4 there a few months ago. They turn over a lot of inventory.

The Rev-ups were the ones with some oil consumption issues. Those were 05 track and 35th AE, and all 06 manuals. Mine doesn't have this problem, though. 03 through early 05 had the crummy transmissions. I think March 05 was the first build with the final CD009 trans. The front lower arm bushings go out, and make them drive poorly, but they're cheap to replace. There was a LOT of engine and trans warranty replacement at the dealers, so you might have the VIN run at Nissan to find out if the parts are original. 07 was the first year with the HR, which you won't get for 11k. They respond better to mods.

not too too big on the red... i'm kinda picky...

as for the vert, i called, they said they'll work the price if i bring cash, so i might try dropping 10 stacks on the desk and see what they say, that vert is just growing on me, then i again, i like that white on white...

how could i tell the difference between a rev up and a non?

the front lower arm bushings going out... there is a upgrade replacement I'm assuming?

HR i already know will be out of my price range, i'm wanting to max out at 11, but preferably stay at or around 10.

as for the motor work, i'm assuming that most is covered under recalls? or am i going to bite off more than i can chew?

final ???, planned mods are just intake, headers, test pipes, y pipe and cat back, what kind of gains if i have it tuned by martin should i expect with those simple bolt ons? i'm not chasing power anymore, but would like to be faster than stock, sound nice, and have the power band to be able to kick it out at the occasional drift event...

HR Z's are awesome. Pretty damn quick with a re-flash and exhaust.

OT: TIRES CAME IN! Mounted / balanced tires, Oil change, Coolant Flushed / bled, diff gear oil changed, power steering hoses replaced / reservoir refilled. Tomorrow going for an alignment then it's time to slay the Dragon.

You can tell by looking at the motor. The variable timing assemblies (cover bulge, solenoid) will be clearly visible on the front of each head. Rev-up are variable on both cams. Standard DE is just variable on the intake side.

The front lower transverse bushing has many options. The compression arm can only be replaced with another stocker or the SPL bearing equivalent. The 04.5+ cars got the revised compression arm bushing, which lasts longer.

All the cars you're looking at won't be under drivetrain warranty. 5yr 60k miles. I only have 44k, but my 05 is already too old. I wouldn't worry about it. People bitch about using 1/2qt per 1k miles. Oil changes are every 3750miles and the car holds 5qts. Not a big deal.

With Nismo headers, some sort of exhaust, and the right intake manifold, you could be in the 280whp range. SG Motorsports has longtube headers, exhaust, and an intake manifold and make 300+whp. The rev-up cams are bigger and have more potential. All the non-HR's will dyno in the 235-250whp range stock.

My Project Mu NS pads and SPL compression rod bearings come in tomorrow. I'll throw in some ATE typ200 at the same time. Nothing like waiting until the last second before the Dragon roadtrip.

I went with Motul RBF600 for my hydraulics. My dad uses ate typ200 in the BMW.

Its broke, you just arent noticing it

It shouldnt get to V5

V3 should have been V2, but I was in a hurry to show jorge the difference I told him it would make, the end result was well worth the effort.

At any rate V3 = bolt on upper bracket, using stock tension adjuster, thats really all that's required. I really wish I would have taken some readings before swapping it out, but the results were clearly visible, just by turning the headlights on, idle was smoother, he seems to think its a bit faster now, that one i'm a little skeptical on though.
