Datsun Dreaming
Decided to change oil pan gasket today. Stripped driver's side bottom motor mount. Took forever to get the pan out since i couldnt jack the engine up all the way. Took forever to put the pan back in. Then it got dark. Only thing left to do is torque some crap down and put oil in it. Waiting til morning to see if i did the gasket right first.
Numbers are nice Torrential. Friend has a built evo with a HTA 35r doing around 635hp and on c16 in the 700's, if i remember right.

^ By gasket you mean rtv right? Did you tap your oil pan for the oil return fitting while you were in there too?
FML 10 times over. Used the cork gasket(what an idiot!)......., just going to drop the oil pan a little to apply the rtv. Should i take off the cork gasket or apply the rtv on top of the gasket?
No, didnt do the fitting because i dont plan on using this motor and im not turbo'ing for a while.

when i changed my pan, i put rtv both sides of the gasket.

Like Tim said, RTV ONLY. Do it right or do it twice.
