trying to decide if i want to do a headgasket on my car while its apart.
seems like alot of trouble for something that isnt broken.

 

What did you want to replace it with?

I have a stock one you can have if you want it.

If you go with a Cosworth check ebay. I got mine for 145$ shipped on there.

Finished stripping down my sr... Crank journal for rod # 2 is toast but all the others look good. Main and rod bearings are all badly worn. Cylinders look good, no ridges. I just need to check the bore and deck surface to make sure everything is straight and within spec, then it's off to the machine shop.

What is it about cyl 2? That one always shows the most wear.

 

^ I have no idea. The rod bearing for cylinder two was paper thin and flared at both ends... It was almost cut in half. There were copper chunks in my oil pan when I removed it, fun stuff.
