Take the ALT all the way apart and check the soldered connections inside it. Mine started off like that then completely took a shit because the connections inside needed to be re-soldered. It works perfectly now.

Went to Home Depot and bought one of their 36" bottom boxes to go under my workbench. Definitely not Snap-On; hell, not even as nice as my other Craftsman. But, it's good enough to hold all my doodads and other stuff I need access to but are crammed into bins. I should have done that a long time ago. I really get off on organizers and organization.
