Hit 170000 miles today. Put thermostat back in, changed spark plugs out, fixed valve cover gasket leaking oil in cylinder #4 spark plug well, and bled coolant. Aluminum KOYO radiator + stock clutch fan is so efficient no matter how hard I run the car, the lower radiator hose is always cold to the touch.

Yeah, but I've never taken the time to learn to use them untill. I like to make things, but its a lot of work and I'm lazy. I'm more interested in making stuff for my bike instead of my car.

In reverse order again....
Hey Dan, I just inherited a few tools from my grandfather-in-law who was a machinist. I think I have box of old thread forming tools. Wanna help ID these things and/or want them?
I'm pretty sure that Greddy valve springs fit on stock retainers. Most do. If you can buy them without a retainer, that's usually the case.
I don't know who's been reading what, but I've got 2 cars with 2871r .64 internal gates in my garage right now, and neither have even the slightest hint of boost creep. Neither turbo is modified, and the 52-trim can keep boost as low as 9psi. The 2871r is not a new turbo. My brother has been running one for almost 5 years now. I'm willing to bet that people with boost creep are the same ones running disgustingly restrictive stock exhaust elbows. The cars at my house both have aftermarket divided elbows.
Again, more hearsay with cam wear. If your rockers are scored, replace them with something else. I'd pull beautiful shiney mirror-like rockers out of old G20's with 150k+ miles at LKQ back when I used to go. If you want to know the truth, when I used new cams with new rockers once, it developed a really odd wear pattern of streaks. Some other experts confirmed that they'd seen it happen as well, but had no idea why. Everything turned out fine. I've put new cams on used rockers at least 4 times and never had an issue with wear.

Haha my dad would know more about that stuff than me, I've very little experience with the stuff other than watching him making things a couple of times and finding alot of new tools around the garage I've never seen before. But if you dont want any of it, I'm sure my dad would get a kick out of it, he loves old tools and stuff.
I figured they would work together, but I ment would it be safe to run them with stockers or should I just buy Titanium retainers? I wasn't sure if the added pressure would cause problems or break them or something.

and as far as the EX WG goes, i have already purchased it, and plan to run it. on the 2871 thread alot of the guys making great numbers swear by running them so i going to give it a try. I do think rather then having tommy weld it, ill make a bracket or something to just hold it shut.

I might be able to help fab something up to keep the wastegate shut for you. I'll take a look at that dead T25 I have laying around. I wonder if a valve spring would work?

Well I respect people's research, it's just that my advice is from actual practice. I'd only start new if I was going to have them cryo'd and WPC treated. I did start new once after a valve float incident shattered 2 of them. I assumed that the rest were probably suspect as 2 had failed under the same treatment. I was also on a mad buy-everything-new-oem kick back then. I should have just pulled some used ones, honestly.
