How much travel does it need to have?
Also is the spring on the clutch a must have cause my car didn't have one but in a YouTube video he removed one.

As a guess, adjust it for maximum travel.
It needs to be able to push as much fluid out as possible to get all the air bubbles out.

Count how many flats you rotated the nut, so you can set it back once you are done bleeding.
