Is the car scene dead?
Funny how we mention some old days and how ricers ruin it now. Well back when I went to Gandy (197
and then worked the ranks as one of the faster street cars we didnt have ricers but then it was rednecks in big trucks, drunks in there 4 dr cads doing doughnuts in the lot. So to me maybe the cars have changed in looks but the stupid people will be just that STUPID people no matter what they drive now. Any old timers that go that far back, I had a 69 Tubbed out Hugger orange Camaro 427, 1050 dom, small 680 roller. nos, glide, pinto front end stuff, ladderbars, wheeliebars, 14X32's alum int. Now that was a Gandy street car

Head up the the Sonics on Bearss and Livingston. https://www.tamparacing.com/forums/l...nic-drive.html The owner is a part of the meet and last week was a great, no-bullshit turnout, despite some showoff in a Mustang that's not going to be allowed back. I like car meets, they just seem to have a bad crowd most of the time.
^plant city has a car show at least 2 times a month and the other 2 weeks are bike shows, of course they are classics and stuff but they have open lots and things down the road where ppl can hang out n shit, the cops are cool for the most part as long as ur not speeding around which i wouldnt recommend around there anyways.
the cops aren't to bad in lakeland yet and we have the ricers too...I'm sure it will change soon though. hell i remember riding out to tampa and orlando just a few years ago before I even had my license and everything seemed to be cool. you could go out to spots most nights and race all night with out many problems with cops. the most that would happen is they would come and have you leave. that wasn't even that common. Last night was actually a really good night with the cruise that we did even though we were all driving like ricers...lol. it didn't turn bad until gandy

Its not dead but its changed, the fast fast cars run in their own little pack and it seems alot of the races are set-up in advance. Then you have your 11-12 second cars that try to hang around in the same pack and then of course their are just ricers everywhere. Which is why I ask...is it worth it? Bringing out a 15 second car and racing it...
I was at a spot where there were at least 50 cars and only 2 ls1's
sad sad day I tell you.
I was at a spot where there were at least 50 cars and only 2 ls1's Its been like that for about 4 years.Whenever i took people out there they wanted to stay by the ricers and I always left to meetup with the "fast pack".Yea ricers bring cops,wrecks,ect...
