Definately in. And definately a good point on the brakes with a course such as this. Perhaps something shorter like an auto-x course would be a better choice. Auto-x is more reasonable for a daily driven car.

I'd actually suggest something more like the trials format.

They put 2-3 cars (more if the course allows) on track spaced out evenly (to help keep people from catching the car in front) at a given time. Everyone does a warmup lap first and then 2-4 hotlaps and then a cooldownlap. As each car exits from the cooldown lap, a car from the next group is flagged on course.

The first heat is always short to get baseline times for each car and the groups are based on the estimated time of each car.. After that, they put cars of similar speeds on the track together.

It works out pretty well.

John,

Any idea what kind of safety requirements are open top cars going to have?

Arm restraints?
cotton long sleeve shirt/pants? Drivers jacket and long cotton pants? Full suit?
5 pt harnesses?
rollbars? (I'm sure this will be required. I'm already set, but alot may not be)

Surprisingly enough, for the size, it turns remarkably well. After reading Leonard's post, I'd be more concerned about knocking a hole in the wall about 5-10 laps into it
