right now i dont have stock brake pads i am running Performace Friction pads (they take a while to get to operating temperture) if we do this i will flush the brake fluid with new D.O.T. 4 fluid and buy a set of Hawk brake pads, also a new set of shocks will be in order.

I was about to vote "No suitable skills or vehicle" but then I saw some of the posts. Just what kind of skills/vehicle are we talking about? If BBB is going to run the land yacht, well, shit, I'll be in his run group.

Most of my concerns:
1. Total lack of track experience for most drivers. Like me. My office park course doesn't count.

2. Total lack of preparedness in most cars. I just got h&r springs and new shocks, but I'm running on 50 dollar econotires on 14" steelies and on nearly dead brake pads that once completely stopped working after 3 minutes at an office park course. A lot of cars I've seen at TR track events have been similarly well prepared for cornering.

3. Safety gear... basically just a helmet, a jacket, and jeans, right? No rollbar in my car, and I can't afford any fancy clothing for one track day.

As I said I'd love to go, and I know of one or two people with much better-prepared cars who would like to go. If my three points are no problem, then hell, I'm in.

Would be a good idea John. Primarily concerned about other people's cars f-ing up.. There would have to be a hella tech inspection. Other than that, where the hell is there a place to hold this?

agreed. i'm interested, and fine w/ the $75, but even w/ no passing, I don't trust 99% of the people on TR to be on the same track as me. there's a certain level of expertise obtained during DE runs at a PCA event w/ a sit-in instructor. i'm not hearing that there would be sit in instructors. i can't help but be concerned when people are posting about "can i drift?" and 5000+ lb. cars wanting to sign up.

plus, with pca, there are investigations & penalties for contact w/ vertical objects. what about that? and what about inspections?

don't get me wrong. i think it is a great idea and i'd love to do it....i just have some outstanding questions before i'd sign up.

What age? 16, 18, 21, 25? Hard to determine track driving ability from age, driving on the road doesn't exactly give you the same experience.
