I've heard a few people like Ron aka qitstrn, say that they do it because they wanted to be different and go the hard route. I really wanted to know how many people actually believe it's easier? Please try to keep this civil as I was not meaning to start a flamefest, just wanted to get a general feel of everyones opinions.

I'm sure everyone can see where I stand on the issue.
Just thought I'd put my 2 cents into this thread because I think its a matter of choice in what you like to drive. I have the where with all to go buy a 30k Cobra, Z28, used Z06 and know that I could throw a 150 shot w/ minor mods and be flying. Lets say 32k invested. Now you have a nice car that moves. Or you can be like me and think wow if I put 32k into my ride it might not be as new as yours but I will be kickin your butt down the track. Heck I kick some of your butts now and I am no where close to that dollar amount and I get some superior gas mileage. Don't get me wrong here domestic guys because I think most of you have some pretty nice cars that can kick some butt. Smart modding can make most any car fast. So for one of the few times in my life Billy (BBB) and I actually agree on something. Racing is fun no matter what you drive. How much you feel like spending and where you put that money is up to you.

It gets funnier every time I take it out, and especially when I see people spending thousands and thousands of dollars to not even go as fast as me, both domestic and import. Hopefully for their sake, I won't ever get serious about this, but then it wouldn't be any fun
I'm glad we can agree on something. Honda offered B16a in the civic and the CRX every where but the USA. A CRX with 160hp from the factory would have no problem challenging most cars.

People who mentioned the underdog aspect of import ownership- run what you brung. If you're slow, you're slow, and it's just a loss to a v8 away from being a "so what, I only have four cylinders" ricer excuse.

Again, ultimately domestics will go faster, cheaper. Just accept that fact and keep doing your thing without complaint, or go out and buy a fox body.

Dont you have a DSM?

Except for repairs, if any, but I dont want to sound like a hater

I give respect where respect is due. If its a Honda that runs 6s, then great, but it still sounds like shit when going down the track its still faster than anything I ever own, however I personally would never understand the difference in money spent to make that happen

lol well to each his own,i know from my experince with the whole scene which may not be as much as others.ive seen my friend take a used "stock" crx and hang with a wrx,ive seen barely modded civics beat mustangs who "suppose" to be a v6.throw a type r engine"stock" into a hatch and it will eat stock v6 stangs like its out of style.same hp even tho the "R" has way less tq.and its just not hondas but other imports.so to say no matter what a domestic will win is not correct, seen a hooked up hatch beat a viper.not by much but still, yea most of the time a domestic will win but not all the time.

I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about V-8s when you referred to domestics, if you're only shooting to beat V-6s, you should do fine
