S15

but that shows you that EACH engine is different
As stupid as this is, i'm still going to go on, all i was pointing out is that they were not wrong in saying "Silvia engines", as they DO come from a Silvia. Yes, the differen't chassis had differences in engines, i'm not saying anything about that at all. End.

Considering you lived in japan for 8 years to you have a reason for that

haahaha some idiot on driftcentral started talking about actually having a gum-tape death match... seriously, how ridiculous can you get...

thats my only beef with the cartoon, that people take it too seriously. although they did make a lot of it surprisingly accurate (actual roads, actual engine sounds, actual chassis codes, etc.) its still a cartoon.

kudos to the creators for making such a great cartoon. but people need to understand that just because you've seen initial d or some option videos doesnt give you any right to add your $.02 to a conversation.

is it a good starting point??? yeah, i think its a nice intro to drifting and touge style racing.

not to get picky, but understand that takumis corolla had some upgrades on it that were never spoken of. he had non-stock wheels, and a lowered stance. chances are it had at least suspension done.

also, as far as him beating the skyline, that is very possible in a downhill racing scenario. the key at that point isnt as much power and more maintaing momentum and cornering faster. a lighter car with the proper setup can be extremely fast in the hands of an experienced driver.

which is what i think the point of the show is...you dont have to have something extremely powerful or lots of $$$ to compete...skill compensates for a lot of that. hachi bill could chase down most people on this board on a curvy back road regardless of what they're driving.
