n2ocamry: LOL/

I think it's a nice show. The fact that it's about drifting makes it cool regardless. If you guys think the dorks who are into the show are bad, you should see the guys at the arcade.

It's better than: Pokemon.
Not as good as: Transformers.
I'd still rather watch: Thundercats.

If you want accurate car info go read some books...

BTW, n2ocamry=fag haha.

Um, about the 32 vs ae86 race, its not only plausable but true, Nakazato (i think think his name was) drove recklessly and created understeer by wearing away the tires etc etc blah blah blah, the "fatal flaw of the 32", the point is if any of you are Kazaa lovers get on and download a vid titled 2 hachi-roku vs 34 race or something like that, just type skyline and youll get it. Its a reckless r34 driver vs. two expirienced drivers in tuned 86's. Needless to say, they both win by alot.

Either way, the series was great. The chassis code lingo and performance specs are all accurate to my knowledge. Look in any Japanese performance book and see, they rarely call a car by its "real" name. And the hachi roku in the series was heavily modified cause Bunta was a bad ass and he had raced that car for decades perfecting every part of it. In the second series they get a new motor which rev to 12000 RPMs, which keeps it up with LanEvos. (Lancer Evolutions for all you non-InitialDed lingoists)

Can you tell im a geek? I learned all i know from initial D and Gran Turismo. J/K. . . .or am i?

Also, Garage battle, I do think if one has a Japanese motor and a Silvia front end on thier 240 then they do have the right to call it a Silvia, because those two things (less the right hand drive) are the only major differences between the 240 and sils respectavly. I got that and i call it that. Its a wrong hand drive Silvia and thats how that car should have come to america. Hell, if someone really wanted, they could call an sr powered hatch a 200sx if they wanted cause thats what it is in Europe. Not to get picky or anything, but i must disagree with your 240 insistence. Its my Silvia, correct chassis code and all.

Now all i need are seats and badges and ill really be a JDM dork!

Still back on subject, Initial D is a fun series, although a bit repetative. The only thing i dont like about it is that everyone he (Takumi) races within the 26 episodes of the series thinks that they are the best "Hashiria" (Street racer. Go learn Japanese!)and that they will win and they all have that Zen enlightenment after the 86 whipps thier ass. then they support him and say he is a god of street racing to everyone else that thinks they can beat him. Must be a Japanese thing.

Still a great series, one of my favorite animes and i can unfortunatly say ive seen more anime than is good for a person.

OK, im done.

My buddy John Jordan, who was the host of the Saturday night barbeque in Hollywood, is the technical editor to the TokyoPop Initial D Manga(Comic Book)...Theres nothing to hate about Anime and Initial D...Don't feel like your'e too good to read creative writing about topics and genres that interest you and other car enthusiasts...Its from these "fantasies" that we engineers make reality...Anime like these are also more "real" than the Sci-Fi anime, so it pulls people like me towards it compared to some other anime titles...Not to mention the attention to detail that the artists and writers put forth...

And if you think that an AE86 can't compete with anything turbo, look at the latest US Pro Drifting Championship, or whatever its called...Not to mention the Corolla this weekend that was perfectly balanced for the route it had been competing in...And it was pretty much stock if I'm not mistaken...

i love intial d. i really liked anime in the first place, so of course i would love anime that involve cars and drifting. it does provide accurate information, and tuned 86 could beat all those cars, just look at last years US D1GP. and at least it is better than the fast and the furious. and since i have an eg6, i challange anyone on this forum to a gumtape deathmatch
