UMM...... it did say he had suspension upgrades( before some of the races his dad would say he changed the suspension setup for him to win) and the wheels were aftermarket and so was his muffler. how do i know this watch the damn series it tells u or gives u hints to whats done to the car... im not saying a Ae86 can beat a Rb32 in real life but its still cool to watch it even if its anime.

I agree... Bunta is always talking about his dialing in of understeer and oversteer.. I'm guessing that the car at very least has adjustable shocks, but more likely has a suspension that can handle adjustments to camber, castor, and toe... as well as ride height and dampening

also, as far as him beating the skyline, that is very possible in a downhill racing scenario. the key at that point isnt as much power and more maintaing momentum and cornering faster. a lighter car with the proper setup can be extremely fast in the hands of an experienced driver.
which is what i think the point of the show is...you dont have to have something extremely powerful or lots of $$$ to compete...skill compensates for a lot of that. hachi bill could chase down most people on this board on a curvy back road regardless of what they're driving.
