Top Gear US
I watched the latest episode last night... right after I watched an episode of UK Top Gear, the one where they drove 4WD vehicles through the rain forest in South America. I'd have to really sit and watch both again, but I think a big part of the difference between the shows is in the editing. I don't know if it's producers, editors or what, but the Brit team just seems to be a lot better at telling a story and keeping it interesting.

While We are on the subject. I thought the trouble the US 'STIG' had while trying to put the power down in his lap was excessive. You hardly ever see the UK STIG have that problem
I loved the truck segment too as well, especially the STIG lap. It looked like a lot of fun.

okay I am watching the ep where there is the Fiero, the roadmaster and the big green hulk of a Cutlas.
i will have to say that tanner and adam are much better and rutledge makes my skin crawl. I mean my dear freakin hell he just reads the script.
UGH they are repeating the water test ... Grrr. IT'S BEEN DONE!
At least Tanner looks good in a wet suit.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

I have to say that I was extremely disappointed to see the Stig driving a tractor around the track. I don't care that the tractor was a genuine Lamborghini tractor.
I dropped my subscription to Car & Driver many, many years ago for much the same reason. I got an issue in the mail that was nothing, I mean NOTHING, but super-cars that I had no real interest in, minivans & SUVs that I had no interest in, and the kicker... they did an article about a freakin' Fire Truck!
I guess I can understand that they get a little bored and want to mix things up, but they need to remember why we watch the show. It's not because we want to see a tractor idle around a race track.

I was going to watch the next ep that they were airing but as soon as I heard Rutledge speak I was like NO! Hopefully they will change him or coach him or something.

This week's episode was fantastic. I can honestly say I enjoyed this week's US Top Gear as much as I've enjoyed 98% of the British episodes. The chemistry is really coming along nicely.

TopGear UK does the same thing with the amount of studio time.

I guess it was their first "hour special". They could have presented it that way!
Even if I was waiting for another topic, I too really enjoyed this episode.
I don't know how many more episodes for the US version, but I think the UK season is starting in March. That means Top Gear all year long, accent or not, I like that!
And for those of you who heard me talk, accents are over rated!!
