hey Luke you say you have my 4000 Watt RMS then give it back.

You say you have one then two post later you say you are yet to see the $3000 to purchase one. Which is it?

So if you got it bring it in over and hook it up to one of these XS12D1's we have in stock currently and lets see if they handle it or not.

Ugh, the internet sure makes conversations hard...
So lets sum this up:
I have AVAILABLE(But not sitting on my desk) the splendid Arc Audio Signature Edition 4000SE. Upon pulling a random production unit off the line and testing it this amp is proven to put out 4366 REAL watts, at 12.0 volts while drawing 443 amps of current. At this power rating the THD is still a totally inaudible .09%. Who knows what kind of power these would make if they rated like most of the other companies, at 13.5 or more volts and up to 10% THD, likely closer to 5000 watts. This amp isn't built for the SPL crowd, or really any particular crowd - It's built as a statment of what is possible in the upper realm of high-end car audio amplifiers.

If you would like to purchase one to break your woofers I'll be glad to sell it to you. Be advised, it may void your warranty since it is so far above the rated RMS power.

Default JL Audio

JL Audio is definatly a very nice line of equipment.

It is also very expensive and probably one of the highest priced lines on the market for what you get out of it.

There is definatly plenty of other equipment that is just as good or better for less money.

JL Audio does have overseas (Chinese) made equipment in there newest line which the name of it evades me but MCOR has it in his store and so do most other JL dealers.

Also the JL warranty is not that incredibly great when compared to other lines of comparable quality and or price.

TMA is the name of the line you're looking for i think, JL bought them a few years back to offer a more entry level product.

Might as hell hook it up to a wall socket to prove your point.

Default Lol Lol Lol

Hell Luke everybody has one available that they can order. LOL

Actually Optimal RMS Power for The XS12D1/XS12D2 (Retail $800) is 3000 RMS and handles 5000 RMS for tone burst purposes (another words Competition Purposes), then the XS12D2SPL's (Retail $900) handle 10,000 RMS for tone burst purposes.

Here is a link to see what 9 of the Crossfire XS series 18" subs do. (Oh Yeah each one of them have 4 amps on it)

i would scout a used JL first to get the best deal. when it comes to the 1000/1 i will buy it new. nothing beats the warranty and of course the pride that if something happens you have a great company to bck you up.

the subs i scout used all day long. i know its a risk but if you know what to look for you could find some good deals.

I'm a JL man. Boston G-5 10's are in my wifes car with a 1000/v2. boy they pound and can take a beating. Those are nice subs too. best 10's ive ever owned.

i did buy an older 1000/1 from a friend but thats because he gave it to me for 300 bucks.

My brother, bring your tea or coffee by and stand in front of our 12W7 cranking in the middle of the showroom and attempt to take a sip, you will have a fine mess on your shirt!

All fine points here. Arc I can comment on-as I have seen/heard and worked with some of their equipment. We have even considered carrying the line but don't feel we can support it as well as we would like to. Fine equipment across the board for sure though.

Crossfire-I can't really comment on at all. Never had any experience with it whatsoever. Never had anyone bring one in here for comparison either or swap out with a JL for real world comparison so I remain neutral. Equipment looks to have some good features for the money-but I've never heard them in action

And Luke is correct, JL picked up the Total Mobile Audio lineup a few years ago as a budget line. They spec'd out the power supply with their own however and the amps still stand up with the big boys and hold their own. Yes it is made in China-they make no qualms about it. That lineup was never put out there to set the world on fire (that being said, they sell REALLY well). However, their own lines of amps and speakers/accessories are mostly made down in Miramar, FL or Phoenix, AZ.

And as far as warranties, say what you want. I had a TR member who purchased a used 1000/1 amp a while back on the cheap find out it was blown when we installed it. We sent it out for repairs he was expecting to pay for. JL returned it repaired (brand new motherboard) for FREE. They felt that even though it was out of warranty, it failed too early with no signs of abuse. Saved the customer $180 and even started the warranty all over again for another year! I have NEVER had another manufacturer we have dealt with step up like that. EVER!

Not to mention that when you are in a bind (as a legitimate dealer), they will mod their amps in-house if feasible to do what you need them to do, i.e. run at lower ohm loads than spec'd, with one quick phone call.

Unless you are now an Arc dealer too, I don't think you could order the amp he was talking about. And even if you got it sideways, Fred @ Arc would be on the transshippers ass faster than they could blink
