Umm, read a little closer:

A. That sub is being sold at full retail, and they are fully authorized for marine JL sales on certain items.

B. The sub is on backorder-like always. Hmmm, we have 4 of them in stock. They haven't been on backorder for JL dealers since they were released.

Yes, JL gets advertised for unauthorized sale on the internet. No one ever said it wasn't. That is because there is a huge demand for it. People actually ask for it by name. If there is a demand, there will always inevitably be supply. When you have a number one brand name, it will make it to the internet. But, click on the W7's at woofersetc or sonicelectronix, buy it, then wait about 48 hours for an email offering you a comparable product-since the W7's are inevitably on back order-like most all of their unauthorized items. Don't worry, you can elect for them to just give you a refund-after you jump through about 10 hoops. You'll get your money back-eventually

And any ARC stuff you find online is old, or you will get the same scenario that was mentioned above. How long have you been in this business? This transshipping stuff has been gone over only a million times in professional circles. I am suprised you don't know how it works. Anyone in this field who has worked in reputable shops with reputable and protected brands is well aware of this scam and how harmful it is to the overall industry.

And all professional industry magazines have at least a story or two about this in every edition. It is discussed at every professional training or road show that any company or manufacturer has ever invited us to. I have piles of notes from these sessions-it is about the hottest topic for manu's and shops these days.

But, I am sure you will continue to argue with those of us who have been around here for MANY years before your shop was even established. We are well respected by members here, our peers, manufacturers, and other established shops in this area and beyond. TR members are smart enough to make choices for themselves. You forum antics are not really what professional shops like Luke's, ours, and your other neighboring shops around there take part in. This thread is not helping anyone at this point and has become pointless. Have a good one...

I feel like this topic might deserve its own thread, but here goes anyway. It is going to be hard to recommend something without a budget in mind, and knowing exactly what you are going for. Personally, I think you are going about your system backwards, but I am a SQ guy so if you are going for loudness, you might be okay. If you were to ask me, most people should be spending more on mids and highs and less on subs than everyone thinks, but you say that you will spend the opposite, which is why it would help to know what you are going for. I spent more than 600 on my 3-way fronts alone and they were used, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Actually come to think of it, I would rather run those well-amped than skimp and run crappier mids/highs just to have a sub, because the 8's in my doors can handle enough midbass. Once you hear how good mids and highs can really sound, it is hard to go back to crappy equipment. So like I said, this might deserve its own thread because this one doesn't seem to be going anywhere, but Matt's post explained why that is.

Default Face The Facts

Matt Face the Facts and it becomes easier and the fact is that JL Audio is good equipment that is so whored out on the Internet that it will soon be as whored out as Kicker.

You can buy it on Crutchfield.com below retail

You can buy it on Ebay from Dealers with a 99.3 % Rating that have been selling on Ebay since the late 90s (A seller with those ratings do not post what they do not have)

JL Audio, great deals on Car Subwoofers Enclosures, Car Amplifiers on eBay!

I could go on and on with other sites that sell JL Audio and yeah we know they are all lieing

As far as knowing about protected lines try and buy one of our protected lines on the internet and yes you can but you will pay either retail or MAP, which was one of the considerations The Boss put into carrying those lines.
