My Experience with BVP/Gadiel Tuning
so you can convert an internal wastegate to an external? WHOA news flash....
i want one.
Sorry bout your problems man, i have read tons of negative shit about tuners and it's hard to pick a good one. I'm glad you posted here, because i was considering gadial --- not anymore. Just like brotherz racing--- read negative shit about them 4 days before a scheduled tune. I pulled out luckily b/c i found out i can't tune with a bad o2 sensor. Only tuner or mechanic I trust with my car is S&R Performance.
Dog eat dog world, tuners are in the position to **** you over, just like mechanics, air conditioning service, doctors, lawyers, etc. Gov't would stop it but they profit from taxing these fine citizens.
I would rather take my car to a guy who tunes his own car and work with him on tuning. Possibly teach me along the way so I can do it myself in the future. I would do the same if I were you. Do your own work--- mechanics make money from fixing cars too!

This all being said, I have found a shop that IS good if you must seek external help. I went here because i needed something welded onto a pipe. I suck at pipe welding, all i do is burn through. I didn't want to rape the bung install of my uego-- so i went to S&R Performance--- go there. I trust these people because they haven't gave me any reason not to. S&R Performance is curtious, well respected, and have ample amount of technicians available on hand if any question, problem, etc occurs. It's got a cool hang out lounge as well, with satalite tv, playstation, comfy chairs, HUGE magazine collectioN!! They are well staffed too, and always willing to talk to you about your car. Ask for john at S&R Performance, he's the one that helped me out. (Huge knowledge base) S&R is very well priced too. $58.00 for a weld perrin downpipe bung for aem uego sensor & checking my coolant reservior for leaks and inspecting my coolant res cap!!! Amazing service...I recommend and commend S&R Performance for their recent fine service of welding my bung. My bung is water tight, smooth, and looks like a robot did the job. Perfectly placed, it get's great readings. ***Thanks S&R Performance!!!

I dont know what exactly went on with the wastegate. i was just told they welded my external wastegate onto my internal wastegate. but i have my external wastegate in my garage and i do not see ANY sign of any welding what so ever, unless they did That good of a job where its impossible to find a welding spot. As far as the offer, thanks alot man. i wish i would of thought this thru a little harder. i figured i could trust a performance shop over someone installing in my front yard. but nxt time ill make a better decision.
seriously if yours is welded shut and you dont have the external on that means youre going to over boost and you dont have a boost gause so you wont know till its too late... turbos gonna go bye bye and your motor
so if they did weld it like they said then you have to put the external on the car or youre fucked dude
hopefully bvp can chime in and say what they did with the wastegate so you dont end up blowing your motor
i wouldnt drive the car and if you do dont get into boost at all until we figure this shit out
although I think he has an 07 which would mean vf43. same principle still applies though, if its already an area being worked on might as well upgrade now so you dont have to worry about it later.

I now understand why so many shops do not post on here and so many more do not mess with Subaru's or TR. Your damned if you do and damned if you don't. If a shop makes a mistake on a Subie and they take no responsibility and do not help the customer then you guys flame them. If the shop tries to help the customer and fix the problem that is unknown still.......you flame them. WTF do you guys want? A shop that NEVER makes a mistake or that nothing ever goes wrong?????? News flash.....that doesn't exist! Every shop is going to make mistakes, it's what they do afterwards that makes them a good shop or not. At least BVP was attempting to trouble shoot the car and find the problem until he decided just put it back to stock.

internal wastegate is on the turbo external goes onto the uppipe before the turbo and the only way to go from internal to external is to weld the internal or make a bracket... and since they said that yours is welded and your external is in your garage that is not a good sign!

the internal WG should have been tacked shut for the external to work right. If it was not tacked shut or the weld was no good and snapped then that would cause your problem. If they did weld the internal shut or made a bracket to hold it closed then hopefully the removed the weld or bracket so the internal WG will work properly. I am thinking either the internal gate was not welded shut, the weld did not hold, or the bracket that was holding the internal shut failed. But I am not sure what was done. Post pics of the hotside of the turbo if you can, I can tell you if it's ok. Or I can swing by and look at it. pm me

So i read the description on there and figured this would benefit me more then just a plain up pipe. so i went with that. other people from the website said it would be a good choice. apparently it wasnt. but i was blamed for making a bad choice on a product and not knowing exactly what it did.
