for all you wrx guys out there that have sti gauge cluster you are apparently teh rice!

as for the rs compared to the wrx theyre basically the same both are green and look similar.... mph on the rs goes to 120 as for the wrx it goes to 140 the rpms on the wrx is in the center and the rmps on the rs is on the right side... really no point in changing it but if you want im sure they have them for sale on nasioc because teh ricers that upgrade there wrx clusters for the sti

Try this method: attempt to do it... say you have done xyz and then you can say it worked perfectly check it it out blah blah... or say i have done xyz 'anybody else try this because after trying it didnt work for me'... you will get better results
So my tech question was a stupid one? Oh and i while accomplish both of your methods some things probably wont work somethings while..but tell me why you bought your WRX??? Is it because your sentra kept getting eating up by a 1g civic??

haha you got me, never raced my sentra because it was the base model version, cough cough... and yes asking how to switch a tach and speedo to make yourself feel like you have a wrx is stupid, because you dont even need a tach in your car its an AUTOMATIC.... give up kid, you bought every wrong option on an impreza if you wanted it to be fast, I mean this in the nicest possible way. Just do suspension mods and you will love it, you will probably beat WRX's all day at autox because you have a free hand for the hand break, dont have to worry about shifting, and your mad skillz will be shown.

maybe he wants to do this before(if) he does the engine swap it can be a cheap mod and get it out of the way now while hes waiting to save money... so why not?

and as far as the comment about $100 more a month and he could have got a wrx..... you dont know his financial situation.... $100 extra month is a lot to a college student with bills plus you have to add in the cost of insurance , gas as you stated and im sure that $100 turns into $200...

i was originally going to get an evo9mr but insurance was over $1000/month so i went with my second option the sti and that was $750/month

Not that I would do this but... dont Sti clusters have a shift light though? Again something he wouldnt need in an automatic anyway

Umm if he plans on doing an engine/tranny swap then I think he could have paid the extra to own the WRX in the first place (assuming hes saving up month by month and plans on doing it before 2020)

If he cant afford $100 a month, there is no way he could afford a motorset and have someone do that swap, plus rent or buy an extra car for the all down time involved.

and jesus christ you are paying $750 a month on a car just for insurance?

yeah $100 extra a month is alot for me...sorry im not "ballin" like the rest...and if i was to do the motor transplant instead of buy the wrx..which one do you think is more possible...because earlier i said the wrx tr was no where to be found and and again for an 18 year old college student the lease and insurance is already a pain...but if you look at it this way you recently owned a base model sentra...i now own a base model impreza..now you own a wrx...wats in stores for this college boy a bugatti veyron?? so im pretty sure you asked alot of dumb ass questions in your life...and people probably either helped you along your way...but thanks for your support i highly appreciate it and i truly mean that..no sacarsm..seriously thanks to everyone! you can still talk the trash or watever you call it in this forum...as long as it makes yall happy im happy for you!!!

like I said before if you plan on doing this swap in your lifetime its gunna cost you putting aside WAY more than 100 dollars a month... even with saving 100 a month you wont have enough money to start the swap for 7-8 years, so if you cant do that you are looking at over a decade before you start... does that make sense? And what the other guy said, its not like you are gunna slap a new motor in on saturday morning and be driving it sunday afternoon, you need to buy another car in the meantime.

I bought a WRX for the same reason probably 75% of WRX's owners buy them: cheap price for what you get... awd, turbo, great handling, sports car performance with much lower insurance, 4 door sports car (i.e. can have passengers in the back seat), etc, etc.... all for ~$24-$26k

But more importantly why would you buy a 2.5i if you really wanted a WRX??... I wanted a WRX since they came out in 2002 (USDM) but I didnt go buy something that makes me wish I had a WRX (i.e. a regular impreza) Just accept that you bought the wrong car for what you want to do, you are too young, too poor, or too whatever to do anything about it, so just accept the 2.5i for what it is and stop trying to make it something its not

Stop watching Fast and the Furious please. Statements like that make you sound too immature to have a faster car anyway so its probably good that you will only be able to wrap your impreza around a pole at 90mph instead of 120mph....

and for godsake there is no such thing as a 2006 Impreza 2.5 RS... its a 2.5i
(and to answer what you are gunna say about that anyway... case in point: 2000-01 Sentra SE have SR20DE, same engine as older Sentra SE-R's however nobody calls them SE-R's....)
