well nobody who is complaining about money whether it be 100 or 300 should boldly say they are going to do an engine/tranny swap and not hear grief about it

any reason why you are defending this guy's horrible thought process? Because there is no way to slice it that:

Engine Swap + less than $100/mo = Reality.... will ever happen

i just dont like watching someone get picked on because theyre less knowledgeable... hes trying to learn hence the questions lol and dont think im attacking you either lol

and if you buy shit used you can actually make the build fairly cheap... maybe someone offered money in his family for bday graduation and such.... so he wouldnt have to spend a dime of his money idk im just saying we dont know him and what hell do

I have a brand new wrx gauge cluster if you just want to buy that. I'm not sure if it would work in your car but I don't see why it wouldn't. Check my for sale thread for pics.

Also I agree with you and kyle that too many people on here jump on the newbies and act like no-it-alls. When I first subscribed to this site everyone was really cool and helpful....now it just seems like a constant debate between fellow suby owners. If you don't agree with something or someone...then either post an intelligent helpful statement or keep it to yourself. After all an opinion is just an opinion, and everyone thinks about things differently.

Its like 20 dollars for the day. I have no mods except purdy rimz, Unless the silencer delete & wrx snorkus count as mods too.

The main difference is I'm manual and you have more horsepower

ooooh, i wanna come to the autoX, where is it?

Oh, and EJ20T... please don't shift like that anymore or else you WILL destroy your 4EAT.... if you want better acceleration, and you can research this, the only thing you can do is to stick it into 3rd and brake launch it from 2K RPM's.
I don't reccomend brake launching either because it will destroy your torque converter after the amount of abuse you've put to it already with your psuedo manual shifting, combined with the brake launching(pressing both brake and gas to the floor at a stop light).

If you put it into the 3rd it changes the shift points higher, so you get better acceleration and more torque in 1-3 gears, then you gotta throw it back into 4th, and no damage is done to the car because it IS designed for that.... it is NOT designed to be shifted manually, thats why they sell 5-900 dollar manual shift kits.

just trying to help you man, good luck!
oh, and just my opinion, i like your guage cluster.... too many wrx's out there as it is, yours is "more unique" than a wrx, why try to fit in when you can stand out?

I'll be at this auto-x in Sept. Come on out, have a good time, and learn some stuff. I'm always willing to give rides or advice, as are almost all of the others who are regulars. I'll also be at the Subaru Challenge at the end of the month (this is August now, right?).

And auto-x isn't like street racing (which I don't know much about in terms of the whole cred/etiquette thing so take this for what you will) where you call somebody out and people think you're all "hard." Doing that at an auto-x makes you look like a douche, or "straight trippin" if you will.

Also, how about another view on the whole 2.5i situation? Instead of a WRX swap, why not take advantage of the higher compression and go with a supercharger kit, or low-boost turbo? Running 7-8psi will give you a nice power boost, you might not even have to run an intercooler, you will still have power and torque off boost as well, and would probably be cheaper than an entire engine swap to boot. I realize that having a big e-penis and running 50 billion PSI of boost seems to be important around here, but if you haven't figured out that I sorta go against the norm of these boards already, you should pay more attention.
