Oh, and Epstein, according to SPEC, the pressure plate plays no role in how hard the clutch pedal is. hahaha

^ Spec is retarded.
I've been having a similar problem with my car, except my car doesn't want to come out of gear sometimes when I press the clutch. I'm guessing either the fork is bent, or the pp is f'd up, maybe the release bearing. I'm dreading dropping the tranny as well...

My car was doing that, it was the clutch release bearing.

yes it does thats why you can go buy a OEM clutch and the pedal be soft.go pull that one out and replace it with like a stage 1 or higher and you will see the difference in how hard the pedal gets.thats why some people buy a higher stage clutch with the OEM pressure plate so the do not have the hard pedal to push in..
and the only clutch company that i know of that makes higher stages of clutches with an easy pedal is competition clutch and they even say with a soft oem feel pedal there is no need to have a stiff pedal..

No wonder every Spec clutch I've ever driven felt like a big piece of ass. They don't even know how to control how much ass it feels like!

Clamping force x pressure plate ratio x transmission lever ratio x (master diameter / slave diameter) x pedal ratio. Assuming your ratios go the right way, that's correlates pedal force and plate force. This is 100 year old stuff here.

Make sure to take pics!

It was a joke A-ron. I was ridiculing how ignorant SPEC was. But hey, they want to replace it so be my guest. Instead of the KA clutch I am upgrading to the SR 240mm clutch as a replacement since my flywheel has dual patterns. Plus I would rather have a stage 1 than a stage 3.

Dan is helping me on Saturday, I will try to take as many pics as I can. You can come by as well
