PPG has a "matte clear" that might work for you, i've got some, planning to use it on my engine bay if I dont use a matte single stage:

And on topic, 1 side Z32 brakes and Q45 5 lug hub down, 1 to go.

Drivers side is now 5 lug / Z32 rear brakes to match, might even go for installing the R32 crossmember....

Matte clears wont hold up to sun light. They last about 6 months tops and you cant wet sand, buff or wax the car because it starts to turn gloss.

I've already talked to the guys at American Icon about it.

Yeah the little bit I used it, it did start to get glossy where i accidentally hit it with the compound and foam pad

Hopefully it does OK in my engine bay, though I may just look into a matte single stage.

Engine bay will be fine as long as you dont do that again. But as far as I know no one has a matte clear that actually holds up to UV rays yet. Why are you doing a matte color? I was originally going to do gloss grey in my car, but I went with the silver because I already had it laying around.

Oh and my water inlet at the intake manifold leaks. So I have to now replace the intake manifold gasket. I fucking hate this motor.

I didnt hit the engine bay with the buffer, was a different car, headlight pockets on thirdgen camaro, they come satin black from the factory, was making it match after color change.

I just dont want a high gloss engine bay, I want a very dull matte, and am looking into stuff to do anodizing, as i'd like to have almost anything aluminum anodized black, including the wheels when im done.
