Datsun Dreaming
lifted front on car, installed new CS inner and outer tie rods/spacers (yes, i need angle as this car will see track time), and ES steering rack bushings, and replaced boots...
going to alignment shop tomorrow, using lift, installing RUCAs, and Toes, then setting up a proper Hunter alignment for $free.99, non firestone, aligning car with me in it for accurate settings to maximize camber settings for tire to body clearance at my height, and reduce toe for reduced camber wear..
busy busy...
still need a S14 VLSD/LSD, got to get this J30 out of here, kills the kick on a lower HP motor...

if you can't find the little nut in your bucket of bolts, then you're not trying hard enough... any ground is a good ground, if it doesn't fit, make it fit, drill and tap, maybe an extra stud here and there to help ground the engine to the chassis... people would be surprised what you can get out of a well grounded chassis..
well, got around to putting the rear arms on, nice how they match the coils...

then got it on the alignment rack to get my stance set up.... -4 in the rear, -3 up front, minimal toe to reduce camber wear.
also was able to locate some tires that fit thanks to a buddy of mine, so i was able to mount the rear wheels for body/tire clearance on the alignment..

came out nice, a lot of bump steer but meh, it's OK...
like a dumbass i forgot the new CS inners and outers, so i wasn't able to get those on, prob do that tomorrow, needs more angle...
paint on the navan sides and valences up next... and to get rid of this shit hole J30 diff, what a bag of assholes that is...

bump steer, welcome back to s-chassis
the TT Z diff had the taller gears and since people see turbo and think insta-fast, most people always end up with the wrong diffs. (J30 used the TT diff)
I've never actually verified that little tid bit, but the NA Z diffs are shorter.
and with that,
again i say
helical or bust.
I looked at my car and put some serious thought into starting the process of tearing the engine out of it... but then it rained... and that made my knee hurt, so i geeked out on evony. lol.
anyone have a good running, ready to go NA 300zx engine layin around they wanna get rid of for stupid cheap? It'd make me mucho happy-o
