Falken came out with a new compound for the RT615.

 

too pricy for what they are in my opinion.
if it took 3 laps around wsir to notice a difference to a pro driver, they arent that different id imagine.

for as old as these are by now, theres much better cheaper choices.

 

I'd still run NT05's because they're the cheapest and still one of the best. But I'm glad falken is doing something finally. I was hoping for a redesigned tread that wasnt asymetrical and totally shitty in the rain. Hopefully in the next year or two they'll update the tread to something a little more street friendly.

The tire is lighter which is also a plus since the old ones were pretty heavy.

Also he said he "noticed" the change right away, the three laps where just to get solid data. I'd like to see how much time if any he shaved off with the new compound tires. But he is also sponsered by them so what ever he says is also somewhat biased already.

 

i dont think its the asymetical tread that makes it so shitty, just the design.
most all new performance tires coming out now are asymetrical, re11, pilot cups. stuff like that. but yeah, id rather walk than drive these in the rain, and the old ones were worse.

Do I call insurance company or glass place first? Anyone had to change out a windshield with insurance before?

 

Call the glass company, they should know what to do concerning insurance.

More than likely they'll get your insurance info and bill them directly.

 

Get OEM window trim, or use the one you have now if they can do that. So worth the headache as opposed to the off brand/generic stuff.

 

i need a gasket for the cat/downpipe/test pipe area. anyone have an extra one?

 

I have a spare 3" 2 bolt gasket.

 

if its new ill take it.
if not ill just order a new one from enjuku (ugh)
