Even still, it'll be interesting to see whether you can divert enough exhaust through a 38mm hole to keep the turbo down to 5-6psi. If you can't, that's the definition of boost creep. The shitty part about boost creep is that it happens higher in the rev range, where peak power is made and injector duty is at it's max already.

Just a point of info: A similar setup, 3071 50t with .63ar exh setup on a FR manifold, had a hard time keeping boost under 10psi with a 40mm gate.

I'm not dicating that you're going to have boost creep issues. But, if 6psi = 250whp = 99% duty cycle = 12.0AFR, then creeping to 9psi is going to put your AFR's up around 15 and it'll be a race to see which goes first: gasket or pistons.

So, should I run 550's and 7psi because i'm pretty sure i wont find a Tial in my budget. Then i'd be looking at 270-300hp. Thanks for the help guys. This is why I'm trying to learn everything now, gather parts, THEN actually boost it.

I get boost creep up to 10-12.5psi off an 8lb spring on a tial 38mm wastegate... (Precision hp 5862 is the turbo I run now) the higher creeps happen in colder weather of course. On my old garrett t3/t04e 50 trim I was getting a steady 9.5 psi off an 8lb spring. I run nismo 555cc injectors with a stock fuel pressure regulator and I've been alright up to 17lbs so far with afr below 12. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on quality injectors and a decent tune. A turbocharger will only exacerbate any weakness in your engine and exploit any shortcut/penny pinching route you take.

I doubt 7 lbs will give you anywhere near 300hp or 270hp for that matter either.

OK. A tune is definately where 90% of my focus/money is going. I understand that a tune will determine if it works or if it fails completely. The thing is, I have read so many people running t3 .50, 370s, and 6-10psi and theyre making 250ish without any issues.

I retract that statement, lol I have a LAG manifold. I guess it might be possible with a tubular manifold. Is that an ebay turbo? I want to get my car strapped to a dyno and finally see what it puts down.

Well I'm only looking to make 250 for now. It is my only vehicle and I would rather have it be safe and reliable than fast.

If you want 250whp, why are you looking at a T3? What is the point of that?
