I made a new shifter, out of a screw driver. I didnt like the old one, it kept spinning on the shaft.

Got my old motor apart. Head seems to be in good shape, no scoring on the cams or oil shavings that I can see. The valves look good but the # 2 piston did shake hands with those valves. There are some very slight indentations on the piston, but no real signs of damage on the valves. I'll have to see if the valves still seal properly.

Also #4 cylinder must of had a leaky injector because the top of the piston, valves and cylinder chamber is coverd in carbon build up. Luckily I have 8 spare injectors.

I'll tear the new motor apart over the next week and take stock on what exactly needs to be done, and which head I want to use.

I like the way the screwdriver feels, and its only temp. anyway. Its alot better than a shift knob that just spins as you drive.

And Mike, its not about it being expensive. Its the fact, that Im waiting for my shift knob to get here.
