none of us had any radar detector stuff. oh well.
story goes, we go drive a ton yesterday, bunch of cool roads, hit the dragon first going downhill, which weirds me out, and feels weird, but whatever, still rad. then hit devils triangle, 28, some of the cherohala skyway again, some weird residential neighborhood we went wayyyyy too fast through but was awesome, then went back up 129 from us 19 and hit the dragon the other way.

so, we get on the actual dragon part, and some fat piece of shit, and his even fatter piece of shit wife on some big stupid white honda that looked like they were riding an overweight stormtrooper(pictures of these specimens later) jumps in front of us, i think dans first, then chris, then me, i usually hung in the back because i wasnt really puching as hard, and honestly my tires were nowhere near theirs. no biggie, wasnt lagging too far.
so, these stormtrooper riding fucks go 25mph up the whole fucking mountain, and wont pull over, even with us riding their ass, me yelling at them, honking, blowing off. they stay in front all the way to the scenic overlook, which is maybe 3/4 through it. we stop there too, take some pics, and take off. i think they were just happy nobody was in front of them and were hauling ass, and i wasnt pushing at all by this point. we get to the bottom where the pics we posted before were taken, and chris and dan are waiting on me, i pull in, and they take off, meanwhile smokey in a charger flies by the other way, makes a dramatic u turn in the parking area, and flies by me before i can even pull out. nails chris and dan, i pull over too, but the cop never came near me at all. pretttttty gay.

ill post some links to pics when i get home, i stayed the night in gainesville, we were really only not driving for maybe an hour total from 8:30 am, and i checked in here at almost 2:30. dans in valdosta with a blown motor at a hotel that was pretty sketchy, think he lost his oil and a rod bearing or two.

 

they can, theyd just have to come back there, and im sure lose.
not worth it, its maybe a 300$ ticket?

Looks like fun, can't believe Dan blew his motor. Hes having the shittiest luck with that car. Hopefully soon my car will be running well enough to take a sweet trip.

I drove straight through to get home and made it just before 4am. Since we started cruising around the area at ~10am, that's about 18 hours of driving with only little stops in between.

Radar detector would never work there. Straights aren't long enough to detect the radar with distance to pull up. Either way, Dan and I got our certificates of awesomeness. Tim wasn't fast enough. Maybe next year, Tim. Honestly, we drove 85-90mph for about 600 miles on the way up there, pushed 9/10ths on the Dragon half a dozen times, did nearly triple digits on Cherohala, and burninated a narrow rally-like set of community mountain roads... I think a pink piece of paper and an on-your-way is doing really good.

If you look at Tim's first link, the last pic of my car, you can almost see light under the inside front tire. We were definitely putting some road behind us. I'm bummed that we never got a pic of Dan making front tire smoke (on the fender) or my brakes smoking.

 

any adverse effects with the elevation? that lookout point photo looks badass....fuck flatass florida.
