In my case its pointless to fight it and speeding is one of the leading causes of deaths in that county. Since december I think close to 10 people have died on that road, last weekend 2 people got killed in a saturn sky from going to fast into a corner. So they have every right to patrol it and hand out speeding tickets, and I sure as hell deserved mine.

I agree with tim and dan, they know what they were doing, dan got busted, so he is going to pay the consequences for his breakin the law. I dont loose any respect for people fighting every ticket but sometimes you gotta just bite the bullet.

I'm not sure I'll be out tonight, but I'll try. Car is still giving me issues. I was working on it for 2 hours before I went to work this morning. I got the timing issue solved for now, but the coolent neck on the back of the block under the intake manifold is leaking and I have to improvise a solution because I'm not taking the car apart again to fix it right now.

 

Give ME a break. What is the highway patrol supposed to do? CSI shit? We weren't speeding through Brooklyn. Nevermind the fact that we were past "unlawful speed" and into "misdemeanor wreckless driving". Honestly, Tim should have been pulling us out of jail, but we just got tickets. Plus he didn't hassle Dan or Tim about exhaust. And you want us to roll up there and be like "check this out your honor, he put an '8' and not a '4' on the ticket." He's going to be like "there's your ugly face, driving your ugly car, with the speed printed right on the screen". Yeah, I'm not going to be that douche bag, besides the fact that it's straight disrespectful. The fact that the officer doesn't study the entire Nissan catalog doesn't mean that we weren't breaking the law.

closest so far was a 98 328i sedan, manual, silver on black, sport package.
price was awesome, and in excellent shape, but too far away(hollywood,fl) and too many miles (230k).
pretty much set on an e36 6 cylinder, preferably sedan.
5 series is cool, but hard as fuck to find a manual. 7 series are all ragged out pieces of shit, and too big. i may go check one out later in tampa, no sport package, black on tan. nice enough, but i dunno.

exactly, its just like the seatbelt law. the only reason it was passed was because the multi-million dollar "safety bonus" florid is getting paid for having the law.dont get me wrong i wear mine i just think it was implemented for the wrong reasons, same exact deal as the helmet law back in the day as soon as florida stops seeing bonus money the law will be done away with

Well, if you're doing something irresponsible, good...glad you got nailed as you knew better and did it anyway. Simple speeding is a different story, getting plugged for doing 7mph over on a highway is just stupid and pointless (as has happened to me, was being passed by an 18 wheeler at the time as well).

So yes, I'd fight a ticket if it was pointless. I had no idea that you were being reckless and irresponsible in the eyes of the law.
