Give it another year or two for companies to really figure out the Ls7, im sure we will see some insane #s for a streetable motor, due to the effecient head design they have.
and please resize your sig a bit smaller.

[quote=???;3589576]for some reason i was thinking you had a cam and some headers to go along with the open exhaust, and around 6psi..lol. damn was i off.[quote]
ha, i wish.
cam, built heads, 10 psi for the win.
come by xat and get a ride.
bill was driving, but if that motivates martin to have badass car i will talk shit to him before i leave tomorrow.
i like the amplimufflers that are on it now. to this day i havent heard a louder car with a stock cam.
most everyone at xat can vouch. my car is louder with the exhaust on.

your prob close on the hp numbers then but i bet it make good tq...
watch out, martin was a pretty good street racer back in the day. maybe some racing out front will motivate him to put his tan car back together.
once your car is straightened out, some one chamber flowmasters would make that bitch sound like a prostock car lol.

acutally its $15k for a GM crate motor and you still ahve to buy a little other little things especially if I wanna go dry sump. Plus going an ls1 defeats the purpose of "one upping" And its quite a feat to get 600rwhp out of a NA LS1 based motor without going fairly radical and sacificing streetablity which is what I want. Id still have to put a few grand into an LS1 motor to get it to last at 600rwhp na or boosted.
one upping hte lschassis community right now would simply be big heads big cam. streetability? the only thing unstreetable on that is how much you want to piss off your neighbors.
unstreetable = rollcage or race gas car. 600whp ls1 is not that.
honestly, heads/cam/magnacharger=done and done.
ls2+cam+magnacharger = done. that was my original route i wanted to go but i couldnt afford it. maybe next year, with a camaro attatched.

alright..i dont see what everyone is bickering about.
LS1 will go 200k miles with routine maintenece, whoever says these motors are unreliable, show me an SR or RB that would keep up, and outlast an LS1..
as for the swap price, a full pullout, engine tranny harness ecu coilpacks and acc. is about 3500 dollars, around 4000 for a T56.
the aftermarket is very plentiful and minimal expenditures to have a reliable, 350-400whp car. and yes, they will still get 25-30mpg...which i have trouble seeing some SR cars do.
600whp from an LS1 though...your best bet is to run nitrous on it and go with a forged cheapo LQ bottom end possible work the heads some, maybe go with a T-rex or juggernaut cam, and toss a 150 shot on it. thats about the only way you will keep it streetable

actually it could be done a lot cheaper if you didnt wanna worry about weight and just do a truck motor. Those can be bought for under a $1k from any junk yard

holy shit... your car has mufflers? i had no idea... it sounds raspy as hell, i was thinking one chambers to make it sound better...lol. never mind, if you were going for loud, you got it
i don't know how much shit talk martain will take, never seemed like that kinda guy so i never tried lol but last i heard he said he got his old shell and block back... motivate him to put it back together.

I still remember one night, about 10years ago, trying to talk him into building a turbo v8, stick in something like a 240 and go big time drag racing in asomething like a 10.5 tire class.
I have no dought he could put together a car to get in the 8s, be he wouldn't hear anything of it. he must of knew something I didn't about this whole drifting thing coming and the sr craze that follows it.
