not quite. the 180SX was named so for japan, but was the 200SX in europe, even WITH the CADET.. explain THAT one!

Yeah i can confirm on the ireland and europe 200SX thing.... while i was there i convinced a german friend to buy one... now its currently undergoing a SR swap and S15 turbine!!! woo hoo!!

Taylor - you're correct., But i'm going by purely Japanese models. Europe is ass-backwards like that. I guess they wanted a designation between Japanese-sold and European-sold models.

no....... its because every car in europe has a stupid number to show its displacement..... so nissan decided to fool the public into thinking it had a larger motor (aka 2 liters)... Its all about attracting more people to look at the car by thinking it has a larger engine than it does.. then they test drive it, realise its a better motor than any european pos 1.8.. and buy it...
