you would be suprised how many s13 and s14 adn s15 are here in japan .

i would recon that the sr and ka would be about teh same

CA was produced such a short time because it was expensive to make. the SR replaced it b/c it is simpler and has more displacement. CA has more features than the sr, like dual intake runners, direct coil packs (no wires) and an iron block. when the SR replaced the CA, it retained a few design features - oil squirters and reinforced main stud girdles, but has a timing chain instead of a belt like the CA. (CA is a little quieter)

The CA is older, but personally I believe it is a better built engine that was replaced due to cost.

Slash is correct - the 180 was named for the CA18DET (1.8L), but later was changed to the SR due to the $$. (p.s. early S13 Silvias also were available with the CA)

no no no ... the plenum actually splits the flow not the head like on a ka or any other 2 valve on the intake side head... which is like eleventyhundredbillion of them. CA = true 8 runner plenum. and yes CA's are finicky mainly because of electronics issues. had SR and CA both...
