fuel, spark, compression. if it has all those, starts and then dies, check pcv valve and vaccum lines, maf connection etc. you get the idea.

I'm thinking something might have rattled lose. Reason being? Apparently my front motor mount wasn't really completely bolted in. The bolt is there but the nut is only on the end.

So I charged the battery, made sure all my connections were properly together, turned it over and it wanted to start...like I got SOME combustion but then it would fall on it's face. It did it a few times, then I just stopped. I haven't adjusted a thing, either.

Your probobly not getting spark on all 4. Have you swapped out the coilpack, or power transistor?

I have a spare coil pack I can try out. Is there a way to check the power transistor? omgosh - I'm thinking the same thing for some reason but not sure how I can try to fix this myself. Any pointers?

Well ya gotta start with the basic three...fuel spark and air...

Easiest way to verify the first two is try to crank if a few times. Then pull a plug out and smell it for gas...it might be a little wet also..hook it up to the wire and try to crank it again to see if there is spark. No spark on all 4 = bad transistor(uncommon), no crank/cam signal etc. No spark on a pair of cylinders would likely be the coils, or maybe power transistor. Individual cyls would be bad wire, plug.

What year is your car/motor again?

Also you did check all the fuses...right?? lol its probably something stupid related to what you did recently..

97 gsx with a mickey mouse 6 bolt 2.3 stroker swap. I decided to name my car Minnie

I checked the fuses, all good. I'll try the things you mentioned. Update to come soon.

On a side note: my 4 year old was "helping" me today cleaning the car. As I pulled the liner off the sunroof shade, he said "daddy why is it covered in cheetos crumbs".

So someone wants to trade me the injectors I need and an Evo ecu for my talon shell. Trading works great for me since money doesn't have to be exchanged and I end up getting two big parts out of the way before I get it tuned (not to mention freeing up valuable garage space).

I know we discussed my tuning options before and I was all about the DSM link, but would the Evo ecu suffice?
