Default The project that never ends...

Just venting my frustrations....

So I'm thinking when I bought this that it would just need a tune and call it a day. New windshield in, lots of cleaning and I'm good to go, right? Not so much. I'm not mad at Felipe at all cause he was honest and is a good guy, but maybe I expected too much when I picked it up.

Oil leaks galore coming from what appears to be EVERY possible place it could come from. Coolant also leaking from not just the hoses but t-stat housing. Power steering is gushing all over the place to where I just decided to cut it out and deal with no PS until I get the more important things fixed. IAC needs to be replaced since it dies if the throttle isn't left on. The hose couplings are loose and need to be checked and re-done properly with proper clamps because it came apart while driving. The starter took a shit, so that has been replaced.

I need a tune, badly. I'd love to drop it off at a shop and just pick it up when it's ready and driving the way it should, but I'm VERY sure it will cost me a ton of money to do so.

The car has great potential...I just didn't expect to put so much into it. So, if anyone needs a web designer or software engineer so that I can start making this car run right, let a brother know.

keep your hopes high man!! All these problems sound incredibly small compared to what other issues there could be. The only annoying thing about leaks is finding exactly where there are haha.

Get this bitch finished!! don't loose faith bud.

Ugh, sorry for the rant. I'm doing as much of this as possible on my own. I wish I could talk to the guy who built the engine and ask him wtf he did. I think I'll be doing these simple things over the weekend and hoping that I can at least eliminate the oil and coolant leaks.

On order: MBC and boost gauge. If I land another client, I'm picking up the wideband and dsmlink. I'll start taking pictures to document what I have going on.

Youll notice how dumb people are owning a DSM. People are so retarded and they ruin these cars thinking they know what theyre doing. You have no idea how many fuck ups ive had to fix from other idiots on their dsm's. You're better off pulling the motor, resealing the whole thing and starting from scratch, that way you know everything is done right before you start making power out of that thing. Ive seen a 2.3 stroker with the stock headgasket and headbolts with a fully built head, ive seen a 500hp 1g with the front balance shaft belt removed but the rear one still spinning. Its never ending with these things from all the morons trying to work on their own shit and not having a clue what theyre doing. I'm pretty sure dsm's get this more than any other car from what ive seen.

I'm finishing my girlfriend's 7 bolt rebuild this weekend, but after that ill gladly come down there and help you out if you can pay for gas etc. Oil leaks can be a real pita to track down let alone fix, but most of the time on these things its the oil return on the turbo, valve cover gasket, and ive been noticing alot of CAS o rings leaking lol. Best way is to start from scratch with everything else. Pull all the cooling system out, intercooler/piping, take the wiring harness out. Then put it all back in that way you know everything is plugged in and in working condition and NOT leaking. When we pulled my girlfriends motor, none of the intercooler piping was clamped tight, knock sensor was unplugged, bolts backed out on the j pipe. So much stupid shit, i'm suprised it ran lol.

aaaaaaaaaaaaand now she doesn't start. Went to move the car from being in the grass to the driveway so I can work on it today after work....yeah it's not starting. I'll have to push it up the driveway with my Navigator. Videos coming later today of the car and where it stands as is.
