Everything you said is correct but people are taking the K series and putting it too high up IMO. Go look at the high HP builds for K and B. They arent that far off from eachother. I'm not denying the power of the K series because its definately a beast. Honda engineers designed a newer motor and made it better, that why its there. But it seems the cockyness of a lot of people with K series motors is just stupid. People in RSX usually "but I have a K series" oh really wow I never knew they came in those
. Thats like me bragging that I have a Civic EX with a Y8 to someone with a DX with a Y7. More power but I weigh more. Face it the newer Honda's atleast sold here without paying a ridiculous amount werent made to go fast. The motors are bigger and have more power because the cars are bigger and weigh more. Then at car shows there could be a fully tucked and shaved bay with a fully built B series and people will talk about the crusty looking car with a half assed thrown in baby K in it.

Ignorant people in general tend to put things on a pedestal that they don't have experience in. Shit a lot of people that say K is the way have never owned one, nor even worked on one. They've seen them in other peoples cars at car shows, and since it's something they can't afford, of course they're going to treat it like the end all of swaps. Shit there is even J series dickriders around, but they're all obviously retarded cause those swaps suck.
I started off with B series, and they're pretty efficient motors. Hell a stock GSR will make 350whp safely, and will hold that power forever. I can't diss on that
. But if I had to choose, it would obviously be K. Variable cam timing is the future. Hell why do you think Ford adopted it in their new 5.0 mustang?

or you can just get an b18b an put a homemade turbo kit together with a good tune see 300+ whp an be faster than most NA k series...an it will be very reliable..thats what i been doing 11psi 272whp an 14psi 310whp and i daily it an beat on it all the time never had a prob yet for the past year

Also Ivtec means-The intake cam gear moves while the engine is running.Putting itself in the best position for making the most power and most tourqe through out the RPM band.
