k20 or type r
^no bandwagon here...i just dont know anything about B...for years ive been around Ks and nothing else.
And were not talking about "punching" it to a 2.0 i thought we were talking stock to stock...just sayin

oh so different pistons spool and create the power at different levels like a turbo? your so smart. cams can change powerband but nothing like a turbo.
K-series
The K-Series motors have two different types of i-VTEC systems implemented. The first is for the performance motors like in the RSX Type S or the TSX and the other is for economy motors found in the CR-V or Accord. The performance i-VTEC system is basically the same as the DOHC VTEC system of the B16A's; both intake and exhaust have 3 cam lobes per cylinder. However the valvetrain has the added benefit of roller rockers and continuously variable intake cam timing. Performance i-VTEC is a combination of conventional DOHC VTEC with VTC.
This is why the powerband on a B series will NEVER be the same as a K.

I dont see why if some one k swaps their car, theyre on the bandwagon. New technology has come to be that will allow people to go faster. Im glad i jumped on the whole internet bandwagon a while ago...
yes im talking about stock to stock i never said nothing about changing anything in either swap i dont know why is there a conflict when we all know a stock k agains a stock type r the k will get it

yea but thats not what i wanna do man, this swap that im putting in my coupe is gonna be for a dd and i dont wanna fuck with it man, just drop i in and drive it so if i go with a type r and i have to change shit to be as fast as a k swap then why not just go with a k swap when i dont have to do shit to it

I am actually pretty smart, but that's irrelevant. B series powerbands will NEVER be comparable to K series. Mostly due to what HonkeyDong posted, but a square motor also will usually have a better torque curve compared to a motor that is oversquare or under.
