Wouldn't doubt it, rice is not confined solely to imports. There's lots of riced out domestics out there. As a matter of fact, technically, right now, my car is rice. I've got the engine rebuilt (stock) and it's back in as is the stock tranny and d/s. The only go fast stuff left is the suspension. It's slow as hell and probably couldn't break 13's going off the Grand Canyon. and yet...I still have my Welds fats and skinnies on there. With a little luck that will change tomorrow, though.
As for the painted CF hoods, well yeah, you can paint any CF hood, but 99.9% of people who have them on a street car won't paint them. I will guarantee you though that if you find a painted one, it will be on a really fast car. Otherwise, why have one if nobody knows you're cool and have a CF hood? That's why you will find them mostly on a CRX.

 

hey man i agree that if you find a painted cf hood, that the car probably is fast. the only thing is i have never seen a crx with a carbon fiber hood. i usually see them on integras, civics, and cavaliers. but maybe im just attending the wrong shows.

If you have a FWD car, anything you can do to get weight off of the front is a good thing.

If you have a low powered car, anything you can do to reduce weight is a good thing.

By all means, get a light-weight hood, be it CF or Fiberglass, and then... paint it to match you car so it doesn't look like an incomplete ricey project.

Just because you have invested in high-quality light-weight components doesn't mean you have to show them off. To do otherwise is definitely ricey in my book.

I think the red with black hood looks pretty badass actually, if it is done nicely.
