Ecoboost is already showing its potential
. I owned one and It was the most reliable car I have ever owned. The only reason Why it is not parked outside because the car came from up north and the frame rusted and fell apart. Never ever was able to find a Shell so I junked it at LKQ for $250.00 Edit: I would own a Brand new Ford Taurus over any car. I love that car a lot but it is too expensive for me

The new SHO is not the best in styling, its not ugly by any means, but just not me, but everything else is awesome, but that engine is awesome come on! I cant wait for the new ford line up's to be cheaper.

Ford still fucked up like USUAL sticking that motor in the worst of cars.
Hopefully the new Focus isnt some slap stick piece of crap
Its good to see ford stop ignoring the advancements in power train technology that euro/asian manufacturers have been embracing. Hopefully domestic vehicles other than the viper and corvette will be on par with their import competitors. I've always marveled at how the V8 mustangs always struggled to get above the 300hp mark when the euro market has the S4 at 350hp, the RS4 at 420 hp, and now the RS5 at 450hp all with the same 4.2L V8. The M3s pump out 420hp out of its 4L V8, while the 6L LS2 only manages 400hp. I'm glad someone at a domestic automaker finally realized there are many different types of displacement replacements.
Audi did this 9 years ago, they called it the S4. 2.7L Biturbo V6 capable of 450hp at the wheels with OE RS4 turbos and a new clutch, Quattro, 6-speed. And it also came as a wagon! I love mine

You're comparing the Mustang 4.6 OHV to the DOHC V8's, so of course they are going to make more HP (saying nothing about torque). Also, the 4.6 is spec'd to run on 87 octane, which means dramatically lower compression ratios and less aggressive cam profiles, smaller ports, etc. Do we even need to discuss the vast difference of 25-30k+ in MSRPs? Neither Euro nor Asian produce a V8 in the same price class of the Americans, but you didnt mention that
