This is an early example of what can be done to the new Ford Ecoboost engines. I see 500+ hp coming out of these within a few years.

So better exhaust/intake and a tune is all? Nice. Wont be suprised to see HUGE numbers with different turbos. I wonder how much the motors are good for.

 

I wouldnt be surprised to see them hold 550 stock with turbo upgrades. Man this is gonna be fast. just wish they made a 6 speed manual

 

they need to put this thing in a proper sporting vehicle. I love the motor but not a fan of the extra weight of the sho.

 

Ecoboost = game changer. It'll be fun watching the japanese play catch up to Ford.

 

^ I can't wait to see what the auto game is like 5 years from now...the genesis coupe will have full blown aftermarket support, these new ecoboost cars will be showing their muscle, and also on the brink of the "toyobaru" project coming out, and i'm sure that will get a ton of aftermarket support also


edit: John, I agree, Ford needs to come out with a legit sports chassis that is "no frills, all thrills" and stuff an ecoboost in it

 

Im interested to see the toyobaru actually. I really was never a fan of subaru cars, mostly because I have a thing about 4 doors, or heavier cars in general, but the sound, damn.


I would love to see an ecoboost in something the size of or smaller than a 3 series bimmer. AWD 6 speed of course.

Do you mean building boring, lack luster people movers for the masses? Yes, Japan excelled at that. Ford at least builds family haulers that can haul more than just families.

 

Ecoboost is awesome, my buddy is in the process of using his Ecoboost Flex as a demo model for a no name turner developing a single turbo upgrade. They expect no less than 600 at the wheels and on pump. . . . we will see, but I see this as happing very very very soon.

On another note, anyone read about the new ecoboost Fiesta or Focus?

the Fiesta will have a 1.6 ecoboost, and the Focus will feature a 2.0 ecoboost with a lil more than 230 hp.

Also don't forget the 2011 F150 with the EcoBoost v6

PS: I hate Ford's but gotta respect the EcoBoost . . . waiting for a ecoboost swapped Rustang
