this thread is about nissan trying to prevent markup so that it stays around MSRP (which is presumed to be around 70k).
Do you think Chevy will do this on their ZR1? did they do this when the Z06 came out?

now take the 2009 zr1 vette same price range..the zo6 is dead the zr1 is the new.compare the 2 specs and its night and day.the vette is lighter and has more power..

the vette will wipe its ass with the gt-r it is what it is.
but also msrp is 30k over, no awd, and poorer suspension

zr1 will make 620hp stock.so they say i see more around 650hp stock and that is before you swap a pulley on the blower.

the z06 is well worth the 70k seeing it is aimed t super cars and will out preform alot of them or run with them..the z06 is half the cost as of most super cars.

1. chevy z06s came out and they where around 70-80k where they said they where going to be.

2.awd is not everything sorry to tell you this and the suspension is better then the gt-r's

you might want to go look into the specs fully.

and your comparing the z06 which will no longer be around..compare both 2009 cars seeing they will be in the same price range..

They are NOT the same price range...are you not getting this?
GTR MSRP = 70k....that means come jan. 1 (or even now) you can go find a dealership that is getting one, and put a deposit on it. Did you even read the article?

i thought MSRP for the Z06 was 66k, but markup had it at around 80k?

so once the ZR1 comes out they wont be selling Z06 C6s...thats what your saying? cuz i think you're wrong

and no awd isnt everything you're right, but it helps with turns (not only Left turns either)

and maybe you should read the specs more carefully...the suspension on the nissan is better...

But i just dont see paying 70k on one, if you can even get them at that price. I would buy an old skyline, IMO the older styles looked better.
I think its probably worth the 70k but not in my book.
The only upside to it is all the different setups you can have, the computer in that thing is nasty sick.
But thats just my take on it im sure you could argue your case too.

Exactly what im saying SUICIDAL they wont be available at that 70k price so to be more realistic it has to be put up against 100k dollar cars.
The zr1 is like 750whp, might be 750 at the crank but that will walk all over the GTR

sorry this made me LOL...

estimates put it at 620-650 stock...

and you come out of no where with 750WHP

^the z06 is dead once the zr1 comes out and the price on a zo6 is 66 and you can get them for 70k out the door..now if you ad shit on after that then yes the price will go up.

and no the supension is better on the zr1.

2008 Z06 MSRP: $70,000

go ahead and walk out the door with one for that much...

the fact is...you are arguing that it will be "100k for the GTR" but you're saying that the ZR1 is "in the same price range" with an expected MSRP of AT LEAST 100k...

i am comparing MSRP vs MSRP...

I didnt read any of the information i know it wont be anywhere near that number now, but do you think 630-650whp is slow?????
cause im not seeing the GTR put out that much.
But you cant really compare it MSRP VS MSRP because you know they will be very hard to get at that price so they are going to be judged with cars that are in the price range that you ACTUALLY have to pay
