Getting straight A's in school...ok, he will get his reward when he gets his grant money when he goes to college.
My parenting idea is completely different from this kid's parents, but if they want him to get a reliable car that's has more potential of killing him and everyone else on the road than a average car, then its fine with me. Just make sure he puts a big fat yellow flag on his car so i can be aware that hes comming my way so i can stay away.

So all teenagers drive like idiots?
If your parents say "get good grades/stay out of trouble and I'll get you a nice car". How could you say no? Would you honestly say no I want a Geo Metro.
Come on.

Come on.and to importluv - i'm sure as hell not saying i'd buy my son a twenty+ grand rwd car at sixteen. all i'm saying is, are you really going to fault the kid for not turning them down if his are? i'm a teenager also, and i can say i've never been in an accident or even pulled over... not that i'm perfect, or that it won't happen tomorrow, but just that it's possible for "young" and "responsible" not to be oxymorons.

yo! what about the WRX? I dont know, i'll get either one. 350z is a great drift car. u should check out the S2K too. i wanted to get a new S2K but it was about 32k. >< Evo's are fun to drive through corners and in rain but i also heard it had problems.
I know what y'all mean. I just hate to see or hear how parents spoil their kids.
I too did well in school, stayed out of trouble, after 4 years of driving, i still have NO speeding tickets. And i drive like a muthafu*ker.
My parents got me a jeep grand cherokee as my 1st vehicle, which i liked. It was used, and i just love that V8 torque that came with it. I washed it by hand every weekend, and kept it clean. Sure it wasnt quick, but it was a good transportation, reliable, and safe. <= typically thats what a parent should look for in a vehicle for their child's 1st car, not trying to get him/her the most amzing car just so he/she can drive it to school everyday, knowing that their child drives the fastest, rarest, more desired car throughout the entire school's parkinglot.

Come on.If you want me to answer your question, id say sure they all do. I did, im pretty positive that you do too.
"Traffic crashes are the leading cause of teen fatalities,
accounting for 44% of teen deaths in the U.S. (National Safety Council)"
http://www.nsc.org/issues/teendriving/
You read this article from USA Today on teen driving.
"One in five 16-year-olds will have a reportable car crash within the first year."
So theres a 1:5 ratio that ncon4t will crash his EVO or 350z.
You can tell USA Today to fu*k off if you disagree with them.

Phinger agrees with me here... http://www.tampaforums.com/forums/fr...e-drivers.html

i would go w/the evo for obvious reasons. but i have driven both and the evo is much more fun to drive in my opinion. if your parents are rewarding you w/this than congratulations. i'm a firm believer in positive and negative reenforcement.

screw that. i am not spoiled. my dad isnt buying the entire car.you can go by statistics if you want about the teenager crashes and everything but i say its all bullshit cause you never know when an accident is waiting to happen for you. yes you can avoid them but NOT ALWAYS its all a matter of where you are and time. a dad made a deal with all of us that he'd buy us our first cars from bout 15-18G. but since im puttin in my own 3G i can now possibly get an evo instead of a scion tc(older bro has one),jetta, or 05 civic. wouldnt you rather get an evo, wrx,or 350z than those?
