Most OEM systems are batch fire so sequential is not necessary for either gas mileage or driveability.

To suggest either must be sacrificed in a batched system is pure ignorance.

And of all the people using sequential, how many actually bother to skew their individual cylinder fuelling rates?

If you want all your cylindes to be balanced then properly flow match your manifold and ports.

I understand what John is saying, however I really dont know if its worth the extra 1900 dollars over the megasquirt II......

Thats a LOT of money for not a lot of HP, I'd almost rather just spray the car and make it up that way. It wont be a daily driver, it'll just be a fun car / race car with no options no interior no nothing...

Dude where are you getting this "extra 1900 dollars" figure from? Didn't I just tell you that CFT is selling PnP AEM EMS's for $1200 NEW and Microtech for $850 NEW. I would go with the aem ems just for the pnp factor over the microtech for the extra bucks so I didn't have to hack my shit up. So whoever said the "extra $1900" needs to do some better research.

On the website AEM has the MK3 supra package for 2375. A non assembled Megasquirt II + ignition can be had for around 300-400 dollars after all sensors. The Megasquirt is not the MICROTECH you found for 850, however some jerks out there sell assembled Megasquirt II's for 600 sometimes but I wont be buying one of those, I can solder just fine.....

The AEM website is always going to be more expensive. Are you not understanding the fact that I just told you a company that is selling them for $1200 RIGHT NOW. And I know the megasquirt is not the microtech, microtech is better and is going for only 850.

You are wrong about most OEMs being batch. Most are them *are* sequential or the very old ones are atleast bank/semi-seq (unless we are talking about REALLY old cars). And it does have its advantages and they are indisputably proven. Weather you need to have it or not is up to you. How much is it worth to you $ wise, then decide if you need it.

And I agree fixing unequal airflow via cylinder trim is a bandaid, and if you build the motor from the ground there is no excuse for it.
