refer to sig young pup. i've worked for the third largest insurance company for the past 5 years, im a senior underwriter. i know for a fact that a civic costs more than a mustang or camaro to insure. i have quoted it on many insurance policies.

here is an example of a quote i just did:
25yo, no points, florida resident

2001 honda civic ex, full coverage $622 for 6 months.
2001 camaro z28, full coverage $608 for 6 months.

now with just liability:
2001 honda civic ex, liability only $264
2001 camaro z28, liability only $292

now let me explain the reason behind this. liability only protects other people when you hit them. so the liability rate is based on the wieght of your car and the size of your engine. so liability is obviously more on a camaro.

but when you have full coverage(physical damage), you have to include the comprehensive rating(theft rating) and collision rating(how much is cost to fix your car if it is damaged)

so since the civic is the #1 stolen car in america and it costs more to fix than a camaro, when you have full coverage, a civic will cost more.

im just trying to give you a hard time as well. but on a serious note, the playing field is starting to get more equal everyday. you know as well as i do that a year ago there was only about 2 civics on TR that ran 12's or better, now theres about 30. im sure your jokes are just to under peoples skin, like mine. but as long as you know there are "turds" on this site that you dont stand a chance in hell against beating them, im cool.

just because you drive a v8 doesnt make you cooler than the guy driving the civic, and just because i have a bigger dick than you doesnt make me cooler either.

 

i keep up, or like to think i do, on what the fast civics are on this site. some of those guys did a great job on them and each day im more impressed. i see alot of them make big horsepower but no torque. this doesnt make them slow, just different.

i gotta get back in town, do some more "polishing" and i would love to hit the track and have some fun. i'm sure there are a few import guys around here that wouldn't mind a run. and like beans said to each their own ..... it dosen't have to make sense to me for you to like it. i know there are plenty of imports out there that will wax my ass but i also know the street drag record is not held by a FWD 4 banger if you get my point.

 

to be pretty techincal. alot of times the import is cheeper to fix up, overall that is. from what i see, most v8's cost a little more then the average stock integra/civic. i see civics and stuff going for 2g's in decent shape all day long. but the v8's are a little more usually

But 6 cyls usually are the best, as they are compensation for the differences between 4's and 8's, however even though they are much rarer to have the same modability, its those few that you hear about all the time: Supras, 3000GT VR-4s/Stealth TTs, GN(X)'s SkyLines ( ) etc.
