Please don't start the reliability deal again

its not the "only" thing but it does factor in racing quite alot, plus most imports dont have as much tq as domestics either.

Looks and reliability don't matter. As long as it is reliable enough to make it through the dyno, drag strip and roadcourse who gives a fuck.

They don't matter in a strictly test of performance and handling.

BTW one of the rules should be all DOT tires only, can not change anything with the setup through any of the runs, no tire changes or rim changes or anything of the sort. Same boost for everything, blah blah blah. Care to join with those skinnies in the front launch?

I think you are in the wrong thread 4door. This thread isn't about a competition. It's about why us import guys and the domestic guys prefer our type of cars. However if you are challenging me to some type of competition let me know. Tires up front are 205/50/15's. Yes I care to join in. You?

You are retarded, slapping a turbo on a car doesnt increase gas milage, it reduces it slightly. Turbos get better gas milage hp for hp vs all motor. So a 200hp 2.0L will have worse gas milage than a 200hp 1.0L

Things like VTEC and stuff change the rules a bit but not by much.

hmm...my import is heavy, RWD, and makes plenty of torque...this should be more of an argument between teh FWD 4 cyl's and the RWD domestics...the RWD Turbo-6's just kinda have their own niche

Red face

Me persoanlly,

I have no preference modding a car to me is like dating.... there's lots of potential out there. Some more complex then others to make work right. But in the end it all depends on skill, patience, and money. That's it,sure a supra can do 750HP easy with a turbo and other mods. The thing is "There is no replacement for displacement". I don't care if your comparing the SR20 to the VG30 the simple fact is whoever has the most diplacement wins the game. PERIOD !!!! Sure there is a slight parts availibilty advantage but how far does that go ? I have owned both domestic and import, persoanlly I prefer import. Just to do something a little different. Don't get me wrong if I had the chance I would take a Yenko in a heart beat. But like someone minchined earlier, reliablility! One of my best friends has a 72' chevelle SS. That thing hs been in the shop more time then lord should allow. But he loves it enough not to give up on it. That and he has the funding,I dont ! So I'm gonna sit back and build up something not many people have done before and shut up the critics, that's what driving an import(not rice) is all about.
