You entirely missed the point. Everyone is saying "this is fast"... "that is slow"... "that's not a fair comparison"... "this is for performance" "that is for performance".

My point was that it doesn't matter how you slice and dice things for comparison... you're always going to have mismatches. Hence the comparison of the STOCK rx8 to a STOCK truck. The truck is flat out faster regardless of weight or the fact that aerodynamically it's a brick.



What I'm really curious about is how on earth did you come to the conclusion that I was a redneck mullet drag racer????

Leonard, I think you missed the point, the people stating the RX-8 was slow (up to the point you jumped in) had cars, modded ones at that. Most of them probably never drove an RX-8, but were comparing their modded cars to a stock '8'. Of course the RX-8 is not as fast as some of their cars, and I did not buy it to go drag racing. A stock Mustang GT, Corvette, STI, EVO, M3, 911 etc.. would beat it. None of them jumped in, but you did, and it appeared the only reason was to be an ass.

There is so much more to a car than 0-60, some people understand that, and some don't.

I only said it was slow. (which from my perspective is a fact).

Ok why don't you post what car you have then? Stock is stock, as it came from the factory so you know. I assumed you had a V6 Firebird because I remember that you did or someone on here did for some reason and you have a firebird in your sig. If I'm wrong correct me, no problem. If not, then point blank you would never get a 14 anything out of it stock.

The fact that everyone says how slow the RX8 is is kind of annoying by now. If it performed like it was supposed to from the factory it wouldn't be much faster. Yet people wouldn't call it "slow" then because there wouldn't be all this drama surrounding it.

 

the drama from the factory is people paid x amount of money for a car that was supposed to be 250, which in fact, is not close to it at all. and yes i have a firebird, and it is stock, not a thing done to the motor whatsoever when i ran that time, and when i pulled an RX8 from a roll and stop.

they look alright, but they are over priced and extremely underpowered. now if mazda wants to get their shit together, they need to lower the price and slap a damn turbo on it, the rx8 is by no means on any level compared to an RX7.

the RX8 is a good car.....for me to poop on.
