Ha ha ha good luck with that. If your pump isn't locked up you have more luck than I do.

if you are going to try it without replacing the pump (i wouldnt) then go with a motorsports aftermarket one and not another stocker. good luck.

Well... I did... And they were smashed to pieces.

Got the new shaft in (it was like surgery trying to fish that bitch into the pump through the dist hole while sticking a long "needle" type object to hold it down while I pulled the magnetic stick off.)

Got the drill on it (and by no means is it a weak drill. It's a high torque plug-in, industrial drill) and it won't budge in either direction.

Time for a high volume OP.

I still haven't decided how I'm going to "attack" the job of the swapping the pump. I really don't feel like yanking out the motor.

That on the back, take the pan off thing sounds like a pain in the ass! Buy a quarter barrel, invite all your friends over and have that thing out and in, in an evening...

I don't know about you but when I have more than one person helping me yank a motor shit gets lost. Tools/parts/hardware/etc. Even then I only trust a certain few people to work on my car with me.

I'm definately going to try to yank the motor up as far as possible without disconnecting it from the trans.
