I'll bet that eaton isn't going to like ingesting sand/silt or water. That muddy nasty water made it past the throttlebody. That and a car with 7k on the clock now smells worse than a locker room after a football game. She really cared for that car and it will never be the same again.
Something else I forgot about is the hose that leads into the valve cover from the air intake. Judging from the location, there is probably muddy water in there too. MAF is probably shot.
Differential is going to have to be flushed, along with the tranny. Hopefully the new exhaust is not garbage. Knowing borla, it will be okay.
The list in my mind of things to check keeps growing. I just want to be well armed when it comes to the ajuster looking at it. If that car isn't toast, then they WILL make it exactly the way it was before the incident, smell and all.

You need to pull the plugs, turn the motor over and let all the water blow out. Change all the fluids. Check for water in the gas, and go from there. As long as it didnt hydrolock and bent a rod you should be fine. That smell does eventually go away too.
Shitty ot hear, but im sure it wont take much for ti to be running new again.

I think I will let Ford handle all of that. They can back up their work if/when it goes wrong with a bit more than a "sorry about your motor" that I would give. I'd prefer to do nothing and have her walk away from it. She bought a new car for a reason, I think she deserves the same car she had but without all of the issues that will pop up later in it's life. Wish the whole thing had never happened.
I know this sounds klinda dick but if the insurance Co. consider's it totalled are you willing to buy the car back and part it out??? I have a few friends intrested in this very type of thing...... ~skottie b.... "hit me back on teh PM"

Man, that sucks. It was deep in places over here in St. Pete too - Im just glad I wasn't driving. That one of the worst lightning/rain storms I can remember.
I would also be interested, as Im sure many would be if you buy it back. I hope they do total it though (not becuase I want parts), but because I myself wouldn't want to purchase a special car and keep it in perfect condition, just to have to worry about what might happen in the future in whats sure to be a shortened lifespan.
