RIP: 1 10th Anniversary Cobra
My mother's 10th Anniversary 03 Cobra fell victim to the flooded South Tampa streets today. She was stuck on Swann in traffic in today's wonderful torrential downpour. The street flooded while she was stuck...the combo of rising waters and wakes/waves from the assholes in SUV's speeding by engulfed the car in water. It stalled. Assholes laughed and taunted my mother as she was stranded in her car. Luckily she knocked on someone's door at a nearby apartment and they helped her get the car out of the way.
Just to give an idea of how bad the situation was: Craig was on scene to help my mom. Paramedics/Firefighters had to pull passengers out of a BMW floating down Swann ave.
End result: 8-inches of water in the interior. Seats, carpet, everything trashed. I took off the air inlet hose to be greeted by a stream of water coming from the throttle body. Water poured (no exaggeration) out of the tail pipes.
At least she is okay. Bummer to lose such a great car to assholes who think it is funny to run full speed through flood water and somehow find enjoyment in other people's misery.
Adjuster comes to see the car later this week. Will post update on condition of vehicle. I doubt they will total the car, but I don't think my mother will want to keep it.
Pictures coming soon....

It was just the most tragic thing I have ever seen. I was wading around in water above my knees when I got to the scene. 3 of us were doing all we could to keep assholes from coming through that area. One guy in a truck went by so fast that it floated a BMW into my side, nearly knocking me down. He thought it was funny, I was glad I wasn't armed.
My mother was in tears the whole time. Her car kept floating around in the carport where it was pushed and fortunately didn't hit anything else. If you saw the amount of water in that car, you would have cried too. It was even in the cupholders and center console. Very sad day for a very nice and rare car.
